This will never happen....

The NFL is just a superior product, feels more meaningful, and has fan engagement with fantasy. I will watch every minute of the Jets vs Jags because of fantasy football (and I did last season...)

Getting me to watch a regular season NBA game is like pulling teeth if its not a major storyline behind it.

I love when people dismiss a sample. Goes to show you know nothing of statistics and exposes your ignorance :mjlit:

Surveys aren't always an accurate representation of the population. Polls have been inaccurate the past few election cycles for example.

This data seems inaccurate to me. NFL just recorded their highest viewership since 2015. And supposedly that was when the NFL was gonna start declining with all the CTE bad publicity, lack of participation in youth etc.

This will NEVER happen. NFL is too ingrained into American culture, reaches the masses - there's not a demographic not tuned in, and then with the exponential increase of Fantasy Football, it will never lose. It also doesn't help that football is practically safe violence that everyone watches, and it's players are passionate. The QB is still the Highest Profile position of all of the main 4. Who doesn't it appeal to? No matter your body size, or athletic ability, they can find a spot for you.

The only thing the NBA had on the NFL was potential of more recognizable faces of superstars, but the NFL has long caught up - I say they caught up in the Diva WR era.

The current young demo of NBA fans admittedly do not watch regular season games. I've never heard a fanbase want less of their sport.

What does that matter?
China can cut off any team that politically doesn't agree with them.
Daryl Morey says some shyt. No more Rockets games in Xi- hougoung.
NFL straight up murders and rapists on teams. Put them on ESPN the next day.
The world at large doesn't care about basketball like they want you to believe.
Soccer>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>basketball
Of course soccer is #1 but basketball is firmly in second place worldwide. The NFL owns North America hands down but the NBA is shown in over 200 countries

How man Soccer teams are gonna sell for what the Broncos are about to sell for? Man U was sold not too long ago. Imagine what the Dallas Cowboys would be sold for. NFL is the envy of every league

Its the NFL's tv contracts that puts them over the top money wise as the richest sports league in the world. A big soccer match with two well known rich clubs is watched pretty much worldwide while a big MNF game or playoff game is strictly an American thing.

Top 10 richest sports leagues in the world 2022 - Victor Mochere

1. National Football League (NFL) $16 billion

2. Major League Baseball (MLB) $10 billion

3. National Basketball Association (NBA) $8 billion

4. Indian Premier League (IPL, cricket) $7 billion

5. English Premier League (EPL) $5.3 billion

6. National Hockey League (NHL) $4.8 billion

7. La Liga $4.5 billion

8. Bundesliga $4.3 billion

9. Serie A $2.3 billion

10. UEFA Champions League (UCL) $2 billion

Didn't the NFL get record ratings last year?
And then break them again this year?
The Super Bowl was the 2nd highest rated of all time.

Nah NBA will never catch up. Football is too ingrained in American lifestyle.
I was a huge NFL guy. I stopped watching and switched to the NBA. It is 7 on 7 drills right now.

Maybe you just don’t like basketball and just love drama. I like basketball so I watch NBA games, I also like football so I watch NFL games on the other hand I don’t like baseball and golf so I don’t watch period.
