For as gimmicky and unserious as it is, one thing the lingerie football league has shown is that there's enough athletic hotties out there that you don't need to restrict yourself to solely arm-candy, unathletic thots. Athletes can be naturally sexy but when the WNBA tries to market "sexy" it comes off as a forced tongue-in-cheek joke and I expect Jeb Bush to show up at the end of the ad to ask the viewing public to "please clap"

I kinda agree. There's different ways to 'freak' a pro athlete promo/ad. This one of Shoni is really poor and bland. She needs to show some emotion for starters and imo just a head-torso shot will do.. something like:

This is what they should be doing. Just add some graphics and a slogan

Hype that sh*t the f*ck up and stop playin'! Its not a "oh its women's sports-wnba" thing. No its all about how you present your product and making the right decisions marketing wise

And yet I bet more men would rather watch LFL than WNBA. Hell, in hundreds of high school football fields around the country on an autumn Friday night you'll find much more people willing to pack a stadium to watch high school boys play amateur football than people willing to watch grown women play pro ball.

And the big joke is that the LFL knows it's a trash product and it's marketed accordingly. The WNBA knows it is a trash product yet wants to be taken seriously in an already over-saturated sports landscape.
