putting out a console simply to promote gamepass is too cynical, especially after their cringe marketing tactic of "everything is an xbox". if everything is an xbox now then why do i need to buy your shytty console?

How can this be said without knowing the nature of the next Xbox? If it's a gaming PC there could be a market for a console like PC that guarantees users a specific performance level and install / run experience. Steam also is looking into such a device.

Plenty of people would be willing to PC game if the experience was simplify and standardized more with less user tinkering.

Its true. People are lazy and stupid so if you dumb a gaming PC down you can make it more accessible to the masses. Modern consoles are a version of dumbed down gaming PCs. They don't even run games off the disc drives anymore.
