I don't give 2 fukks about the NFL truth be told, but If I did, I'd rather have ads on jerseys rather than a game stopping every 2 mins for a commercial :yeshrug:

shyt like this blends nicely with the jersey and isn't obnoxious at all

I agree they aint an eyesore but having "SAMSUNG" literally 5 times the size of the actual club logo is disgraceful

I'm not gonna say North American jerseys across all the leagues are sacred but a lot of them are straight up gorgeous and would be forever tainted by a big ass "MONSANTO" along the chest :yeshrug:

10 million people can like anything and it doesn't make it right or necessary or tolerable or needed. It can just mean they had no choice but to accept it. If your ,team name isn't Samsung it looks dumb and out of place.
But like he said ,it's about business

Putting the team name on the jersey is mostly an american things. Here's Real Madrid's jersey in the 50s/60s:

Here's the Lakers in the early 50s:

Ads are a result of the increased commercialization of the sport :yeshrug:

This may be true, but it's an ultimately irrelevant point. The sports are different, for starters. Soccer doesn't allow for timeouts or other natural stoppages in play. So the ads on the uniforms aren't in lieu of commercials, they're merely the best available vehicle for advertisers.

And more importantly, should the NBA our NFL ever decide to allow brand logos on jerseys, it would merely be in addition to the commercial time. No league is going to dial back their ad time.

The culture of commercials is big in the US. Just compare an NBA game with an international or Euroleague basketball game. The NBA tries to cram as much commercial as possible, even in smething like 20s timeouts. This def doesn't happen in the other examples

I get what you say, but as a fan I'd take this over the commercials overload in American sports :yeshrug:

Of course...but that's never changing. People complain, but no one is NOT watching the games because of it.

Well, maybe. But how many people were complaining about ads on jersey "commercializing" the sport when it's already commercial as fukk? I mean if you love football then it shouldn't stop you, but I don't like football enough to put up with this, unlike basketball.

How is that different from any other industry on earth? You think you aren't "replaceable inventory" wherever you work? Yall think they really care about you at your job? :heh:

It would be hard because it's just a game at the core of it. A game these guys have played they whole life. That transition from game to business might be hard to understand. You aint bagging groceries at 5 years old, then when you hit a certain age somebody pays you for it. I know I would be :mjcry: knowing the game i love thinks of me as replaceable inventory.

Put up with what? Would an ad on a jersey really make you not watch something you would watch otherwise? If so, that's crazy...and you're in the extreme minority lol.

It's marginally less aesthetically pleasing, but in the end it doesn't change anything about why me, and almost anyone else, watch sports.

Exactly, if people put up with hours of commercials, they'll put up with ads

Y'all crazy. I would rather have an ad on the jersey than get a constant sequence of

XP

90 sec. commercial break

Kickoff (6 secm)

90 sec. Commercial break

With that said networks and the league make too much money to stop even if they had jersey sponsors

Good interview. I like hearing retired players perspective on real shyt like the guaranteed contacts. He seems so pessimistic about the NFL in general. :mjcry:
