Exactly. The rule was changed cuz there was at least some validity to the notion that a defense holding a team to a FG did their job. If your defense can’t stop a TD with the game on the line, you deserve to lose.

Offense, Defense, Special Teams are the three main units. If any of them give up a TD in overtime there’s no grounds to claim you weren’t given a fair shot. You were, you just failed.

No it's not. College OT is structured like a drill teams run in practice offense vs defense. It's not how football games are played

So if KC scores a TD then Buffalo scores a TD, then KC scores a TD to win it would be fair?

Isn’t that essentially what we saw from the last few minutes of regulation? If the defenses ain’t gonna stop anything, why do we need to see an extra possession?
