NBA PLAYERS ARE MAKING MORE THAN EVER.

THE SECOND APRON JUST
PENALIZES MORE FOR SUPER TEAMS

THE CAP WAS THE CAP
WHETHER THE 2ND APRON EXISTED OR NOT

OKC JUST SAID fukk
YOUR 2ND APRON AND SIGNED
THEIR BIG 3 FOR 822M

They make more because revenue is sky high.

The players get 50% of revenue today. Before 2011 lockout, it was 57%.

Also, while the cap is the same, the second apron may prevent a team who really valued a player from spending to sign or keep.

OKC may trade one of Williams or Chet, but if a player is a UFA, their terms may change due to the second apron.

Average career length in the NFL is 3 years and the average salary is $3M.

You're not going to convince the overwhelming majority of the union to miss out on one of those years so some bozo GM can sign players like Daniel Jones to $200M contracts :skip:
average nikka makes 860k not 3 million. So it's even worse.

I guess NFL Players really are getting screwed compared to NBA contracts then :mjlol::heh:

Not even going to bring up soccer.

NBA is far and away the best league salary wise in the world for a player. Median salary is 6.8 million. Average is over 11.

The soccer and baseball cats making those obscene salaries are outliers.

Too many heads on an NFL roster to even dream of getting that kinda bread. The math don't math.

Average makes 3, median 860.

People tend to forget about the players you never hear about. The practice squad guys, the benchwarmers, the pre season guys. Means that a squad is about 90 players.

So I wonder what the average and median is if you only count people who actually get to play a few snaps per week.

that's what I just said breh :skip:

with the rookie minimim being 840k, the basic nikka on a roster making on 20k more just tells you who truly makes up most of the roster.

I just looked at peoples 53 man from last season. The 27th guy on each team's salary is barely above a million so that median is pretty damn close.

That 3 year career average is real so most ain't going past that rookie contract which means that median is VERY fukkin real.

And take away taxes, expenses etc and the short career.

Average NFL career is 3.3 year

From ChatGPT:

Rev per player in NBA is ~26m while NFL is ~14m.

Makes sense there is some disparity but the non-guaranteed contracts with such a high risk of injury is some BS.

NFL contract loopholes are wild. Dude signed a $110M contract last year and got $27.5M from it.

The Raiders voided the remaining $35.2 million of guaranteed money left on Wilkins' contract ...

:what:

These guarantees mean less than a pinky promise.

The stars are not sacrificing big game checks and the rank and file don't make enough money to absorb multiple missed games. It's a no win proposition.

I think some of the stars would be willing to sacrifice. They’re just massively outnumbered.
