Im the only one probably in this thread that actually lives in Nigeria ... you gotta laugh at the ignorance and stupidity


for the record , I could do a crime stories thread daily of all the murderers , peadophiles , racist cop killings in America , kidnappings etc..... and call America all sorts of names ... but Ill let yall cook , because obviously the armchair revolutionaries and keyboard warriors have their agenda ...

I personally being African know that this isn't representative of Nigeria. It's curated fukkery for exhibition. I hope most people in here understand that and don't leave with the idea that this will be like their experiences in Nigeria.

Being from Houston I fukk with Nigeria and Nigerians heavy. It's interesting to see the differing viewpoints of Nigerians about Nigeria on this site.

They may stereotype and think that we don’t take education seriously but once you point out that the fact that there use to be over 121 Black universities in America (20 have since closed) and there is a population of 35-40 mil Aframs and most were founded at the turn of the century or right after the civil war, compared to there being only 99 accredited universities in Nigeria according to this list

And the population of Nigeria is 190 million (4x the Afram population) and most were founded in the 2000s. Point this out and they shut up quickly.

This is something I've realllly been considering making a thread on, in The Root though. I saw a video a while back stating that Nigerians are the top earners in the US and I think the UK and there were tons of comments understandably proud, saying "We don't play, we value our education", etc and I've always agreed but for once I started questioning why it isn't reflected in the education system I'm starting to view it moreso as a value of individualized, profitable education (doctors, lawyers, bankers, etc) which sends a lot out west, rather than education proper. If it were about education proper, we'd more likely see an education system similar to South Korea/Japan, where there's a huge emphasis and regard for teachers/professors and likewise, a university rivaling the Oxfords and Harvards so many try to go to... Interested in hearing any thoughts

i own a house in the UK, rent a one bedroom flat in Port Olympico in Barcelona .... and own quite a few properties in Lagos ... so im definitely not hurting

i also pay for quite a few peoples schooling/housing and medical expenses .... because unlike you I dont talk the talk , i put my money where my mouth is

AND.... i got a Nigerian and UK passport ....... i also have another passport but thats by the by .... so as you can see i live in Nigeria because I choose to , If I wanted to remain in America I never would have left ......

im not saying Im rich .... but Im definitely doing better than you .....

This is why you have Africans going to school all over the world. It's not for a higher quality education but rather accreditation. So they can work in their fields and have better chances.

When you hop in a cab and a nikka says I'm an Engineer, Doctor, Lawyer. Some of those folks came west with the belief that they would work in those fields only for their education to be viewed as tolilet paper. So others opt to go to school anywhere they can afford from India to China. But Indians are going through the same thing when they show up here with their education certs... Nobody told some of these African brehs. Get over that hurdle and you gotta deal with not having Western Experience.

The education quality is there the institutions can be there but them being regarded on the same level as Oxford and Harvard will have a lot more to do with White Supremacy than quality. Asians are not better students than Africans and that's a fact.

Agree with some of this, but I think it avoids the point that ciroq is making or that ab made earlier.

Nothing he posted in this thread is particular to nigeria. As someone who is of Nigerian descent but not a nigerian. I have many origins and family all over other 3rd world countries, and relatives who relocated to Portharcourt, and Lagos in Nigeria for a better life for years.

stories of corruption, misuse of public offices are literally throughout every developing nation.

Of course when every post you make is something negative on a country it will sway views and opinions.
