A nation is a new country... it won't be born peacefully or dwell peacefully next to the "Old" country. America was never going to let a new country rise anywhere near it's borders PEACEFULLY. Damn near no country in the world would go for this peacefully. That isn't to say it isn't deserved or anything else just the ideal you have is naive. The second you declare independence you are national threat number one for an infinite amount of reasons, majority of them being Black people have real grievances with America, they would fear retaliation and also international influence, treat it worse than Cuba.
