Here’s a numerical look at vacation time taken by Obama and his predecessor, George W. Bush, according to CBS News White House reporter Mark Knoller, who tracks presidential travel. The numbers do not include visits to the Camp David presidential retreat in Maryland.

—7: Number of trips Bush made to his family’s compound in Kennebunkport, Maine.

—26: Number of days, all or in part, Bush spent in Maine.

Actually, Bush's Air Force One cost a lot more than you think. A one way trip to TX cost over $800,000. And he didn't just go to Tx on these trips. He used AF1 for day trips around the country. Huge bucks. Many of Obama's trips were not vacations but for government purposes. Doesn't matter, they were included as "vacations" by the right anyway. And when you consider that Bush is record holder for number of vacations for modern presidents, the costs add up to way more than President Obama could ever hope to reach.

Every president travels to large cities for meetings, speeches, photo ops, political fundraisers etc. There is nothing new about this. And yes, when they travel, they tend to bog down traffic. Again nothing new here. How exactly do you think George Bush traveled the country to campaign in 2004? With a private cessna? I think not. He used Air Force One to jetset across the country multiple times, as all presidents have in the past.

George and Laura Bush went to Africa a combined seven times, and went on safari's with the family multiple times. Look it up. Obama grew up in Hawaii, not Chicago, so it makes perfect sense for him to go back there.

Wrong. Most of the cost of a trip is travel and security, not lodging. For example, in 2012 Obama and his security staff reserved 75 rooms at the Wesley Hotel in Oaks Bluff, costing $345 a night per room. The total tab was approximately $181,000, while the round trip cost of operating Air Force One to Martha's Vineyard was approximately $424,000 for the round trip. The cost of operating Air Force One to fly to Crawford, TX was approximately $805,000 round trip, or the equivalent of 4.5 times the cost of all the Obama rooms at the Martha's Vineyard resort.

Considering that Bush flew Air Force One 50 times not even five years into his presidency, that would amount to $40,000,000+, not including trips to Maine (a longer distance to Martha's Vineyard) and any other vacations he took.

As for this stupid argument regarding "working vacations", I'm going to let y'all in on a little secret: all presidents are constantly on call 7 days a week, vacations included. This idea that Obama is lounging around at the pool, is nonsense dreamed up by the partisan hacks who continue to defend a moron who took this country into two unfunded multi-trillion dollar wars.
