Which is why I could never understand how a dude like Delavadova could be in the league playing significant minutes

Delladova is strong and his stamina is good, even among NBA tier athletes. Dude could probably play 10 straight pickup games and barely be winded while playing lockdown D and basic jump shots

NBA is a game of inches, breh. If you played against CP3 and Delladova, you'd barely be able to tell the difference with how bad they roasted you or how unguardable they felt.

Yep, people underestimate these dudes cardio/stamina also. Hell, thats half the battle rite there. You can be talented as hell but if u too winded to get up and down the court/field, whats the point? An NBA "scrub" could come to any rec center in america and run all day. An NFL "scrub" WR could run non-stop in any pickup game. NOBODY would be able to keep up with him

If I was an athlete I'd try to get into the NBA or MLB before the NFL. Baseball and basketball contracts are fully guaranteed:blessed:

NFL can cut you with no hesitation after they've paid you your guaranteed money

The nba is full of a bunch of 6'4" pgs with handles like a 5'7" streetballer.

That's enough to show how hard it is to make it.

Half of the players in the draft have been scouted by colleges since they were in 8th grade

The dude was like "I can't imagine how good pro ball players are" and I was trying to paint a picture that they're pretty much superhumanly good at basketball because I've seen cats like that play.

It's hard to imagine because we're so used to comparing them to other superhumanly good or big athletes but a guy like Stephen Curry or Jamal Crawford would probably knock the wind clear out of your system if you tried to body them like Delladova did in the finals.

I'll just quote what I posted in another thread cuz it answers this.

Well yes and no....

Yes bball out of all the sports is the easiest to pickup

formula one racing :troll:

When you play regular pickup...a 6'3-6'4 guy is the center and is playing in the post.

In the NBA that guy is the point guard with the best handles.

The best PG in the entire world is a 6'3(listed :childplease:) who can barely dunk, has avg athleticism, and just won his first ring.

All he did was work hard to achieve everything he has. There is no secret

Like look Kyle Lowry is an all star point guard in 2015 *cough* justin bieber tweet *cough* and lil Kevin Hart blocked this nikka when they played one on one

Like at the end of the day its still Basketball. The Rim is 10ft height and the ball is 29.5 inches wide.

People in the thread gassing up getting shytting on by D1 players. Well no shyt. They have been playing since they were 5...been playing AAU. Spending summer after summer going to camps and getting up thousands of shots. While you only play what once a month or once a week.

Think of it like playing the piano.

You play the piano once a week or a couple times a month. Yeah you can master like one or two songs and be like "yeahhhh I can play the piano"
Then someone that has been playing the piano since they were 5 and plays it every day for countless hours comes in and plays Adagio Sostenuto Ludwig Van Beethoven No. 14 in C Sharp Minor with their eyes close.

Of course they gonna shyt on you :dahell:

I would hope someone that has been playing basketball 320 out of the 365 days every year for the past 15 years is better than I am

In the Silver Lining
If I could rewind time , I wouldve been training up for tennis :manny:

Tried out freshman year but wasnt taking shyt serious

No way a black god cant excel at that sport and make that bread

No CTE, no concussions , just a bunch of cac tears
:blessed:

Real talk....if I could go back I would have taking my speed as a runningback and used it for tennis...for what its worth. I've known a few black folks that played in high school, college, semi-pro or just for fun. I did take one or two lessons from a black tennis club, it just never stuck. Peer pressure and not wanting to be "to different" wouldn't have let me do it anyway....besides tennis is same season as track......werent no Serena Williams type chicks compared to track teams ..lol.
