USA = 1 Gold Medal per approx 7 million people.
UK = 1 Gold medal per approx 2.4 million people.

It's an annihilation :lawd:

Your logic is just something that loser countries use to justify never having the top medal spot. So you are telling me that the uk would have 3 gold medals per 7.2 million people if it had a similar size to the U.S just because that's how it works out in your formula? Haha keep living in that fantasy world mate I'm sure that makes you feel alot better after looking at the medal standings and seeing the U.S with the top spot. :heh:

Went to the Womens football bronze medal game today, the organisation of the whole thing was top notch. Atmosphere was a bit weird but on the whole a really good day.

Canada performing a snatch and grab with the win, didn't deserve it at all.

If France takes 25 shots and don't score on any of them do they deserve to win? :usure:

You reachin breh

How's that?

It's much more accurate guide than athletes at the games which is massively skewed by the fact that we entered in to every sport as we're hosts, sports we've never competed in, or haven't for decades. Teams/Squads which had no realistic chance of even winning a game, let alone a medal. We entered just over 300 in the beijing games, which is a far more accurate number.

Let's not even get in to the fact that the US pumps money from a bottomless pit in to their olympic programs.

In the UK funding for a sport is only achieved based on the success in that sport, which is a retarded system but there you go. Do you know where that funding comes from? No not the government, not private investors, but from the national lottery fund.

Considering these factors the UK, at 3rd in the table is punching MASSIVELY above it's weight and is having a much better games than the USA.

You can all choose to ignore this stuff if you want, and you can all post as many US>UK stuff as you like, but you ALL know what i'm saying is true, but your american arrogance won't let you admit it.:yeshrug:

If the UK had 300 million people, and funded our olympic sports in the same way the US has over the years, we'd be absolutely running away with it in the medal table.

It's frankly embarrassing for you that we're as close as we are.

France were all over them, Canada were really really poor. Canada didn't really do a great deal to deserve the win, not a lot of great defending/attacking. They didn't do much to earn the win, basically relied on France's bad luck/lack of finishing.

Japan lost today because they couldn't finish. If you have the chances to score and you don't take them and the other team takes the rare chances they had then they deserve to win

Depends how you see it I suppose. I don't think Canada deserved it at all.

Surprised at how many Canadians were at the game though, good support for them. More vocal than any French support.

Gilver is like a broken tape.
Why do you keep posting the same shyt over and over after getting sonned?
You got special treatment by getting more athletes than anyone else into the Olympics by virtue of being hosts (541!)... Athletes from other countries actually had to qualify for most of these events! :rudy:
Yet, despite flooding the competition with athletes all over the place, you still only got about HALF of our medal haul... at home! :laff:

What have we learned?

That the US would get more medals? We already knew that, you're a much bigger country than us.

That the UK beats the US p4p? We already knew we would, we're a much better sporting nation.

Seems there's been nothing but reinforced facts to me.

No you would not, hypotheticals have a weird way of working out in your mind, but are different in reality. You ignore culture, demographic genetic history, I mean there is a reason why a country the size of jamaica consistently produces elite track runners and why a country like the U.S consistently produces at the top of the medal standings in athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball etc...

Just because you say hypothetically if we were the same size as the U.S we would get this much gold, doesn't make it true.
