So Kahn's masterplan was to get the #2 pick so he can give that to the Lakers and get Gasol. :russ: :russ: :russ: :russ:

Worst gm in the league.

AP sources: Timberwolves making run at Pau Gasol - Yahoo! Sports

That much became clear leading up to the NBA draft on Thursday, when Minnesota offered Derrick Williams in hopes of landing the second pick from the Charlotte Bobcats to help get Gasol from the Los Angeles Lakers, two people with knowledge of the discussions told The Associated Press.

lol @ Irish ass Boston getting 'Sully'. very fitting, could really pay off

what exactly is Perreh's knee issue? is this something that gets worse? he looked ok in the tourney, letting him drop to the 2nd best team in the league is a bad look for scrub squads that reached

sike naw on the real, he's still a bit raw. a lil soft too, gotta get used to the American game and banging with dudes that are way bigger than him. Will be a great player though.

Heard he put on 45 lbs this summer

Why didn't the Wolves move up to get Lamb, would have been perfect. Held on to #18 + Williams and the first from Memphis or their own first to move up 7 spots or 9 and grab him.

Rubio
Lamb
Whoever
Love
Pek

Smh.

Because Williams + 18 didn't have that kind of value apparently.

Rick wasn't really interested in the draft seemingly. I just find it funny that other T'wolves fans are tweaking over the 58th pick. That's why I don't fukk with some of them.

fukk that, if your team got the 2nd pick and traded it for Pau, nevermind Adleman, you could say goodbye to Love.

apparently Love's kinda with Adelman on this in terms of getting players that can win now. Love doesn't wanna wait on young prospects to develop either.

I don't think this team's moving forward on stuff like this if the owner, GM, coach, and Love/Rubio aren't down for it. This is what Doogie said

Curious why MN wants Pau? Adelman is 66, Taylor is 71, close to finding minority partner who could be main guy soon. Tiny window.

It's just a terrible idea though, he won't make them a championship caliber squad, and you'll still need help @ the wings. What is the plan, play Love at SF, or bring Pekovic off the bench?

Pau has maybe 2 years left, if that, it's a tiny window, but trading for him will essentially put them in back in a hole if it doesn't work.

That's part of why I don't want Pau here. What good is a big three gonna be if you can't play them all at once? At least when the Lakers had Odom/Gasol/Bynum, Odom could guard other SF's. Nobody on this team can do that.

Another thing I don't like is that apparently Bynum's increased role fukked up Pau mentally. So what the fukk would he be expecting playing off Gasol AND Pekovic? Also, Pek busted his ass and played through pain to get to his spot. He should be rewarded with a contract extension, not with a cut in his PT.

Gasol would be gone before Rubio or Love's time would come up, so I don't this should affect that. I just have zero faith in the team's ability to fill those wing spots through free agency (I still don't even without Gasol) when we've never signed a player better than probably Barea. Long term they're gonna have to move Williams. Just no way around it, even if he is admirably busting his ass to get to 225 lbs to see if he can play SF. I just wouldn't do it for Gasol. I understand they haven't made the playoffs in 8 years, but they could get Gasol for Wayne Ellington for all I care. The team's not making the playoffs if Ricky's not healthy. Simple as that. If Ricky's 100%, they could start Robbie Hummel and make the playoffs. He's that crucial to this team.

Sounds though like any possible deal would have to involve Darko's deal and LA doesn't want that.
