Came in here to post this, lol.

He's set to work out and take a physical with the Bucks next....so we'll see what happens.

If I'm the Sixers, and Wiggins and Parker are gone when it's time to pick at #3, I might consider Exum over Embiid. The idea of an MCW and Exum backcourt - which would be one of the tallest in the league - is intriguing, particularly from a defensive standpoint.

Last thing Philadelphia needs is another big man with an even REMOTELY questionable health situation.

You want two backcourt players that can't shoot?! I don't. If Embiid falls to the Sixers, its the pick that has to be made.

Apparently the Sixers are trying to trade up to 1 for Wiggins. So the Cavs could be using this as a smokescreen for the Bucks so they can get Embiid at 3. I have no idea..

Ehhh....I'm coming at this from an outsider's perspective.

If neither of the first two teams takes Embiid, I would conclude there's enough red flags raised about him such that maybe taking him at #3 isn't such a good idea. Because there's no way a legit 7-footer with a great offensive arsenal DOESN'T go #1 in the draft if he's healthy, let alone #2, and particularly when BOTH teams could so desperately use such a dynamic big. So yeah, I'd actually be concerned if he fell to the Sixers at #3, and instead I'm taking the next best player on the board (Exum). I know the offensive deficiencies would be glaring, but Exum's ceiling is supposedly through the roof, so it's not like he nor MCW can't improve their shooting touch....and I'd rather worry about THAT than whether or not my big man's back is going to end his career and make him "Byum: The Sequel."

Granted, if I'm the Sixers I do my own thorough due diligence and have my docs make sure he projects well health-wise. If he DOES, and it's clear that the Cleveland "report" of not wanting him because of red flags is bogus, then yeah...THEN I'll take him. But that's an INSIDER's perspective, I'm not privy to that. :manny:

Something I never understood is why would the team with the first pick use smoke screens? There are really no advantages when you think about it.

Think of it like this.....if you're Cleveland and you think you can convince a team like the Bucks or Sixers that you have no interest in taking Embiid, and that you are instead poised to draft either Wiggins or Parker, you change the leverage. So now, say Philly wants Wiggins....they might panic and offer you the #3 and/or the #10 (or the #10 and Thad, or the #10 and a variety of 2nd round picks) so you (the Sixers) can move up to #1 and draft a player you (the Cavs) REALLY didn't want in the first place. So you just came up on an extra top 10 pick and likely some help in the 2nd by deceit...and if you REALLY get them going and get them to include the #3, you can most likely take Embiid ANYWAY. :heh:

Ah, this makes sense. So it is likely the Cavs are in talks with the Sixers, and the 10th pick is the stumbling block right now. Hence these leaks.

Also....isn't it about time to sticky this thread? The draft is only two weeks away.

Nurkic vs. Capela.

I really hope the Raps draft Capela with their #20 and then potentially Inglis (may have to acquire a 2nd first rounder to draft him).

if the team with the 2nd pick or perhaps even 3rd pick really wants somebody and is desperate enough to trade for the #1 pick, you definitly consider moving back if you believe you can still get the player you're targeting. for that reason, even the team with the first pick will throw out mixed signals for leverage.

If im the Sixers and Embiid is there at 3...im taking a strong hard look at what Noel could get you in trade value? Could he get you a top 10 pick? Could Noel and the number 10 pick get you a top 5 pick? The sixers know better than anyone at this point, but the questions with noel are all offensively (minus health issues). Can he develop into a legitimate scorer? Embiid is a sure thing offensively and defensively given health issues. They cant play together IMO effectively...unless your playing embiid at the 4, which isnt going to happen.

Sixers need a swingman though, I don't think they'll look to deal Noel and pick up Embiid. Since Embiid has possible health problems, it's a high risk low reward situation because if either one doesn't pan out then you've accomplished nothing and you're back to the drawing board with another top 5 pick. If either one does pan out then you essentially built the team that you planned to have last year, which is also a tank squad, you want to get a swingman who will give you a scoring punch or atleast play both sides of the ball (Parker/Wiggins) that will take the pressure off your big offensively.

Sixers drafting another big and dealing the other when both have health problems just doesn't sound like a good idea. Also, trading Noel will probably give you an expiring contract AT BEST. No one's going to give you anything of value until they see him on the floor being productive.
