you've been talking about under armor money like it makes a bit of fukking difference. Maryland is Maryland...michigan is michigan...and being the DC at michigan is a better job than HC at maryland, and michigan CAN pay for that luxury.

You forget how much Harbaugh was offered and how he declined it to save money for assistants.

I'm not saying durkin will stay but "Under Armor Money" doesn't mean anything. Michigan's athletic department just...absolutely DWARFS marylands.
He won't make more than what 1.5 mil at most as D-Coordinator, while he'd probably get 3-4 mil at Maryland. Easy decision

New reports are coming out that Kirby Smart is the new favorite to be our head coach because our AD doesn't want to wait around on Herman....

I'm conflicted, I like both but I think I like Herman more because I'd rather have an offensive minded coach more than defensive...
IDK something tells me Kirby is going to be Muschamp pt.2. Ed Orgereron said something interesting about his coaching stint at Ole Miss. He said it's one thing to coach a position or a defensive unit but it's another thing to coach a whole team. You can't communicate with a QB or WR the way you would a defensive end.

1. The wait for Herman is only 7-10 days less that Kirby at most

2. Could be true but sounds like Sexton setting the marketplace for the Kirby

Going off that then any D-Coordinator would be an iffy candidate. It's true but it's not a way to gauge potential success.

no shyt

but Under Armour dwarfs any athletic money Michigan has to offer. It means a lot, so dont underrate it.

Do you think Kevin Plank will go full on Phil Knight(Oregon) in the future with Maryland? Would be interesting if he did.

Man, this has been a weird year for Oregon, kinda fun tho. So pissed now with the Wazzu L now. Would have been pretty cool for VA to play in the Rose bowl.

I thought Herman would only leave if it was somewhere in Texas??

East/southeast texas is basically sec territory anyway since the last conference realignment. Other than texas, 3 of the 4 state schools closest to the city of Houston are in the sec (aggy, lsu, Arkansas). Herman would build a death machine at lsu.

Edit: my bad Norman and OK st are both closer than Fayetteville. :lolbron:

Arkansas still has a big presence in east tx though.
