Nah, there's a difference between partying and rapping about ignorant shyt like killing, selling coke, and shyt like that. Imagine a 50 year old rapper still wanting to be taken serious about rapping that shyt when people his age group are grandparents?
Yeah, some rockers be on that demonic shyt, but even that still pales in comparison to what some rappers be on over the age of 40.

Rap is more than simple minded nonsense, but that is never celebrated or talked about. Public Enemy still tours around the world and their message is as clear as ever, but cats ignore what they about and worship some 90s rapper on that stale shyt.
Grammys this year was mixed, but at least Iggy got snubbed.

Simple minded nonsense doesn't necessarily mean it can't be "good music".
"Guns, Killing and Coke" can also be compelling material for an album.
Freddie Gibbs last album was fantastic, sure it had a bunch of gangster rap cliche's
but it was also VERY musically sound.
I mean Scarface is a great flick doesn't mean I can't also like quirky indy films.
On top of that I reject your ignorant generalization of Hip Hop music as just involving "Guns, Killing and Coke".
If you're going to try and convince others and myself that you actually care about this shyt and
aren't just airing out your grievances whenever you get a chance then you're going to
have to bring more to the table than "I hates duh gangsta rap !"

Old school MCs expanded beyond simple minded shyt and have material that last through the ages. Some people, however, try their best to erase that history and make Hip Hop into one big ass predictable mess.
