worst thing about this show so far, and I guess it's kind of indicative of the current music scene...is that every artist performing, every song, every winner in every category...everything is just so damn safe. It's as if everyone is just trying to make the broadest, most inoffensive music they can. You don't really get the vibe that anyone is pushing the envelope.

In the 90s you had the grunge rockers and the new influx of rappers all makin their voices heard and doin some crazy shyt you never saw or heard before. shyt that was against the grain, shyt that was unique. shyt that had character.

but now these muthafukkas get on stage and it's like you know exactly what to expect. a sweet melody or a catchy beat that you won't even remember at all once the song is over. Lesser, sterilized versions of songs we've all heard before.

Yeah, its like music today just killed off the rebellious nature of what a musician is about. Nobody trying to break ground anymore. Just drones.
