Getting embarrassed by the Nats on the last day is fitting. Need the owners to get that Zoom meeting done so I can feel comfortably optimistic.

Yeah, sad we didn't make the playoffs but at the same time I give them a mulligan because of the pandemic shortened season. Brody did enough to get himself fired so there won't be any controversy when Cohen/Sandy move all their people in. I feel bad for Rojas but I don't think he should expect to keep his job just cause.
Player wise I really like the position core but they need new blood in both the rotation and bullpen. What do you have a 12-13 man pitching roster? I want to see a majority of new faces next year.
I like the Mets lineup a lot I don't mind any tinkering or even one big move to supplement the pitching but definitely not vice versa. If they keep the DH in the NL we are set for years with Smith/Alonso. But if not? I don't like putting Dom anywhere but 1B. Playing LF is stupid.
Might need to make a move.

I have theory, especially when it comes to football and basketball. I think in the modern age of media with multiple outlets and 24/7 not just news but sports news as well as unofficial content on YouTube, vloggers and bloggers, etc. The media scrutiny is so deep in NY that it places a lot of undue pressure on team execs and they are more prone to mistakes compared to smaller markets.
But anyway, here's to hoping Cohen is going to go hard in the paint and we are going to be high bidders for everything we need/want.

And honestly the nets suck too. They just play in the East where you can make the playoffs with a losing record and not even be the bottom seed. The NBA needs to expand. Having a majority of the teams make the playoffs by default is stupid.

Similar sentiment here. I believe analytics has its place, but it definitely looks like the Yanks got bit by it. We definitely need to upgrade in that area. A lot of stories are coming out how the Wilpons nickel and dimed things that would help the team. I read last night about how they didn't want to do the motion capture software, and was like Thankfully the homie Stevie C will come in here and end all that.

I'm reading that Realmuto is looking for a $200M type deal. I know we need to upgrade at catcher (I hate seeing d'Arnaud beasting for the Braves), but I don't know if I'm willing to spend that kind of paper just cause "we rich now"

fukk that. At his age I wouldn't commit to him for too long. I'll give him 25 a year for 2 or 3 years and call it a day. After that time we can see where things stand. 25 a year would be record money for a catcher.

Agreed. He's definitely going to have to lower his asking price; especially with most of these teams hurting for money, they ain't tryna hand out record contracts for a catcher who's already 30 years old. Apparently Harper is hardcore for the Phillies to keep him, but from what I've read, they kinda nervous about their financial situation.

I read that too. I don’t see anyone going that high. I’d throw 4 years and 100m at him. If the highest bid is around that.. I’d up it a bit.. but 4 years is the absolute max id throw at ANY catcher.

They also need to throw the bag at Bauer too. I heard he wants short contracts and big money so I'd happily do 30 for 2. Him and Degrom with Thor coming would be a great look.
