This season is lining up for two SEC teams to get in (unless committee keeps falling for Notre Dame). Big 12 and ACC future not looking so bright.

Why do we need playoff expansion when the #8 team can't even stay on the field with the #2. I know it's just one game, but I'm struggling to see how there would ever be 8+ actual contenders in a cfb season.
