I mean the turnovers suck, the WRs aren't as good as we thought after the first couple games, but its more than enough to be a top 10 team still. They probably average mid 50s if you take away the last two losses.

They don't have the defense to allow them to have a bad or even mediocre scoring day, against literally anyone. If they didn't score at least 29 against San Jose St, they lose that game. That's a ridiculous amount of stress. I have full confidence Washington (like they did last weekend) or Oregon could play a middling to bad Group of 5 team and coast and still win by 24+ while USC simply cannot!

The last 2 losses were really the only good teams they played. So I'll judge them based on that instead of the rest of the cupcakes. Last year that defense was horrendous, this year they are probably below average but they make plays and get to the QB. If there offense could sustain drives it would help then immensely instead it's more boom or bust. I think Riley should run the ball more, and Caleb should stop playing for the big play every down.

I mean I get where you’re coming from, but it just ain’t realistic to compare other issues to what the defense is. It’s at least 80% of the market share of the problem overall. They are a schematically bad side. Ball control/better security should help, but they routinely give scores on very short drives. If anyone has the average time per scoring drive for their opponents, that would help give a better image of what’s happening there
