Having seen all those 90s superstars in their prime, I feel it comes down to preference.

Unless I’m splitting hairs, I view Clemens, Maddux, Johnson and Martinez all as legendary.

None of those guys are overrated. And you can make GOAT arguments for each of them.

Fun fact btw: lost in all the Judge/Raleigh talk is the fact that Jose Ramirez now has the most Top 3 MVP finishes without winning the award.

Dude is so damn good too, but he just can't seem to get over the hump.Always a bridesmaid, never a bride.

Truth be told, there's a couple guys who are unfortunately stuck in the wrong era, Judge and Ohtani are just too dominant

2026 MLB Hall of Fame newcomers to the ballot:

Cole Hamels
Ryan Braun
Alex Gordon
Shin-Soo Choo
Edwin Encarnacion
Howie Kendrick
Nick Markakis
Hunter Pence
Gio Gonzalez
Matt Kemp
Jason Kipnis
Daniel Murphy
Rick Porcello
Matt Wieters
Jeff Samardzija
Chris Davis
Kelvin Herrera
Edison Volquez

None of these guys had Hall of Fame careers, though I consider all of them to have been very good players.

In terms of the holdovers from last year's ballot, the only HOF level TALENT are

Alex Rodriguez
Manny Ramirez
...possibly Andruw Jones, though I don't feel quite so strongly about him.

Having said that, the top 3 vote getters last year were Carlos Beltran, Andruw Jones, and Chase Utley.

If it were my ballot, I'd vote ARod, Manny, and probably Andruw Jones. I just think those are the guys who truly stood out in their era.

I'm not really sure that Beltran or Utley were in that elite tier, even though their careers were fantastic.
And while I do feel that from a talent perspective Felix Hernandez was amazing at times, he never did show the consistency or longevity for HOF consideration. He's kind of in that Johan Santana category for me.

I would hope that we could elect all of these PED users/accused guys and just acknowledge the controversy around their careers. It's a museum and museums exist to tell history...good, bad, and ugly.
