You been hyping this dude up for years too! @tremonthustler1
:dead:
He was a career .273 hitter out there. Was he hitting .800 against off speed pitches?

He’s gonna be fine in the majors even with the adjustment to faster pitches because his bat speed isn't slow. If he had slowish bat speed then his power would evaporate. The power is real.

Apparantly he had a 49% whiff rate on breaking balls too :scusthov:

And the most alarming stat for more me... zone contact rate of 72%

Not worried about it. His floor is low but the ceiling is someone who is ideal for our park.

Even with that .188 avg he had a .768 OPS because he sees pitches. If he was 29-30 he wouldn’t be appealing but he’s entering his prime years.

Come 2026 WBC assuming he plays, he’s gonna remind everyone how he plays in big spots.

They played hardball with him last off season and he won his 1st silver slugger. His market hasn't expanded too much since then.

I like Pete and think he's a good guy, but he should have taken that 1st offer for 7 years instead of hitting free agency. I don't think the market will ever offer him a deal that surpasses what he turned down

So if they go hard at Bichette which a lot of people expect. Do you move Volpe to 2nd and Jazz to 3rd or in the OF? Or keep Jazz at 2nd, McMahon at 3rd and move Volpe to the OF or as a bench bat?

As an O's fan, I'm rooting for whatever hurts the Yankees the most defensively

:russ:
There’s no way I’m moving Jazz who’s comfortable at 2B to 3B to accommodate that bum Volpe. He’s the odd man out in that scenario.
