I've been saying this, at the very least, since Soto left, but even before that season when we were running in place, the philosophy they have doesn't work, If having to blow it up means Cashman and Boone have to go and ownership has to seriously reconfigure what they're doing, that's fine because them winning a title doesn't feel realistic.
The Yankees are too comfortable selling themselves on making the playoffs being the benchmark for success.
