They will have missed on every Pitching Arm the beat writers had them connected to. No Suarez, No Peralta, No Cabrera, No King, and then Valdez.

To trade Skubal after signing this Framber deal seems pretty insane and a weird message to their fanbase imo. Even if it's insurance if he leaves, I feel like this is a we're gonna try to win this year and if it's not going how we thought by the deadline, we're trading Skubal. They'd definitely get way more trading him now but it would be odd, but I'm not a Tigers fan so maybe they'd be all for it.

I think that's what did him in. I started reading reports of him not being so good in the clubhouse, which is probably why the Mets didn't heavily pursue him.
