I’m lookin at the standings it’s Memorial Day weekend and the Rockies are the only team in mlb STILL with single digit wins :gucci:

Not just that but the next closest team has double that total. This team on pace to lose 150 games and set the woat record

The San Francisco Giants signed Jorge Soler to a 3 year deal in February 2024. By July, they said fukk that, and shipped him to Atlanta.

He did okay. But clearly Atlanta realized he wasn’t shyt. Who might be stupid enough to take him on?

Of course. The LA Angels.
And this season he’s OPSing .691.

Also:

For my fantasy players rank these four for the remainder of season:
Brendan Donovan
Anthony Volpe
Nico Hoerner
Zach Neto

Edit:
Let's add CJ Abrams for shyts and gigs. Rank the five. Just curious about different opinions. I will give mine as well:

Abrams
Neto
Donovan
Hoerner
Volpe

Straight head to head? Points/Roto?

I would go:

Neto
Abrams
Donovan
Volpe
Hoerner

Neto is filling the sheet in R,RBI,HR, SBs - Don't have his pace in front of me but he's likely flirting with 30/30 for this season
Abrams the Nats aren't great, but they are putting up runs and similar to Neto Abrams can fill the stat sheet. Abrams K's less so he may give you a bit more bonus on the BAVG compared to Neto.

Donovan with the Cards they are playing some solid baseball. He's in a good lineup spot. He's going to help in R/RBI/BAVG. Doesn't K much, gets walks. Might sprinkle in a handful of SBs and HRs down the stretch.

Volpe in a great offense, is going to score runs, likely knock in a few RBI's. He could flirt with 20/20 type of season. But, he's going to K alot, and is likely going to hurt the BAVG.

Hoerner Cubs offense is firing, but he's not got any power. So he's mainly just going to help in Rs and SBs. He doesn't K a bunch so he's going to flirt with a BAVG that is likely in the upper .270s.

All in all they can all do different things to help your team.

I would guess if Soto has a rough series at home with the Dodgers in town, Mets fans are going to let him hear about it.

John from Ronkonkoma on Line 2. Long time listener. First time caller…

I been a Mets fan since 1964 when they played at the Polo Grounds and . . .

Head to head. Thanks for the breakdown.
Surprised Neto topped both lists.

If I were tiering them

T1 - Abrams/Neto
T3 - Donovan
T5 - Volpe/Hoerner

So Neto/Abrams are close but there is a larger gulf between them and Donovan and even greater gulf between them and Volpe/Hoerner. You could arguer Volpe's power/speed makes him a T4, but ...

Agree with this tiering
I didn't realize how many HRs Neto hit last year is my problem.
Also, Hoerner hit 10 HRs like 3 seasons ago and his power has declined since. Weird.

If you could go back in time to teach Aaron Judge’s batting mechanics to a young Tony Clark…

:lupe:
It’s his quick wrists and bat speed that is elite which again is rarer for guys with his body type

He is basically what Ted Williams would be doing in this era

I think by this time last year the Pirates had already called up Paul Skenes.

The rumor was that by now, Bubba Chandler would have been called up too.

But since the Pirates are so bad, they’ve opted to cut Jared Jones rehab and have him get the surgery. So maybe that means they will let Chandler dikk around in AAA even though he’s proved all he needed to down there.

The Rockies are 5-20 at home and are on pace to lose 136 games this season, which would pass the 1899 Cleveland Spiders (20-134) for the most losses by an MLB team. By contrast, the Chicago White Sox set the modern-era record for most losses last season with 121.

2024White Sox121
