Is it? Signing early always works out for the team. That’s how we’ve been able to control Valdez and Brown for so long on the cheap.

Valdez has been going through arbitration like most players. He's a UFA after the season.

Crochet is talented but he hasn't accomplished 1/4 of what Valdez has done. I'm personally leery of Crochet because him and his reps let it be known he wouldn't pitch in the playoffs last year if he was traded. Just a competitive red flag for me.
