First playoff win at time for the Seattle mariners since oct 15, 2001 ( game 5 of the ALDS against Cleveland)

I can’t believe it’s been that long ago. Like their last home win happened just a month after the 9/11 attacks.

Unfortunately, the only games they have won in the playoffs between 2001 and 2022 were against the Jays in Toronto, so on the road. They had very few playoff games at home , only last night's game and game 3 against the Astros in 2022. ( the Astros swept the mariners in the ALDS )

I was wondering if there was a worse team than that, and there is. The Reds haven't won a home playoff game since 1995! They have only two playoff wins, and both wins were earned in San Francisco . ( they lost in 5 games to the giants in the NLDS that year)Their record in their last 17 playoff games is 2-15. In 1999, they had 96 wins and still missed the playoffs! They were one game back of the division and one game back of the wild card.

Even the Pittsburgh Pirates have more playoff wins than the Cincinnati Reds, with 3. All of them in 2013. (They won their one game playoff wildcard game against these same reds at home and lost to the cardinals in the NLDS)

I saw a stat that the Mariners are the ONLY team in the league who have never hosted a World Series game.

Im rooting for them to win the AL just for that. New blood needed in the World Series.

The other 4 teams to never win the World Series:
Tampa Bay Rays
Colorado Rockies
Milwaukee Brewers
San Diego Padres

So a Seattle-Milwaukee World Series would get one of these teams off the list.

The city is just as hot for this as they were for LOB seahawks superbowl run. Maybe hotter

@benjamin @Regular_P @RadaMillz @West Coast Avenger who was the city hotter for, seahawks (think during the nfc title game before the superbowl) or this mariners run? Feels identical
