This is what popped into my mind as well. If I remember correctly, the other big part of this Ventura "single" was the Mets didn't cover the spread or the over/under was missed (maybe both) as a result of him never getting beyond first base. The final score was 4-3 instead of 7-3, so there was a pretty big gambling fallout (though it wasn't nearly as mainstream as today).

i think its good for the nl/baseball tbh
brewers are a couple games within first so it brings more competition within the league and there especially in august/september
maybe he can keep it up withing his next couple of starts and motivates the brewers to make some moves before the deadline

Pirates have no intention of trading Skenes but a lot of social media accounts are saying a lot of teams are kicking the tires on him.
I think the Yankees should give them Jasson Dominguez and any prospect in their system (excluding Lombard).
You roll out a rotation of Skenes, Fried, Cole, Schmidt, Rodon/Warren…you’re almost definitely going to win 100 games. There’s just no other way.
