It’s funny how teams will hold onto a player only for them to bust.

I seem to remember in the mid 2000s the Yankees refused to consider trading Jose Tabata because they thought he might one day win a batting title at the major league level.

He wound up being traded to Pittsburgh in 2008 for Damaso Marte and Xavier Nady.

Cashman really has a horrible track record.
Wasn’t Jaba Chamberlain one of those homegrown talents they held on to for too long? I can’t remember his story other than he shyt up to fame then flamed out equally as fast :manny:

it wasn't that they held onto him for too long.

It's that they didn't know what to do with him and fans were dead wrong on how much Mo had left, so they wanted Joba to be Mo's successor and Hank wanted him to start

I actually think Joba crumbled under the hype. He was also mismanaged by the Yankees. Maybe he wasn’t great but I’m inclined to think he had confidence issues.

The guy who was super hyped, that I heard rumblings from actual scouts on some old baseball website that he was overrated, was Jesus Montero.

I'll always remember Joba Chamberlain for that game in Cleveland with all those bugs.

A lake near Tampa FL
Watching this Marlins/Twins game the Marlins stadium is so empty that someone hit a foul ball on the right hand side of the stadium and it landed in a empty row of seats with nobody sitting nearby :heh:

If you watch enough baseball fans going crazy to catch a foul ball is common but that Marlins game is a ghost town :mjlol: I think I seen a tumbleweed go by :flabbynsick:
