Watching them beat the Mets 2 out of 3 I heard a few players chirping they aren't giving up on the season in post game interviews. They are capable of playing well and being spoilers at least.

Someone has to explain to me how MLB doesn't realize that they have the best all star game and they treat it like its nothing. Celebrity softball game was played Saturday night and being replayed right now on MLBtv while the derby isnt until tonight and the game is on a random Tuesday evening Why the hell don't they make it a weekend thing? This would be like the NBA all star weekend spead out over a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with the game being played on Wednesday night

Someone here said they should do the Home Run Derby on the 4th of July.

I liked that idea. Then I thought…that’s not great. People love to watch the fireworks around 8-9pm and that’s when the derby would take place.

Still, they have to figure something out.

MLB doesn’t have to share viewership with the NBA, NFL, NHL, or College Basketball for their ASG. So it SHOULD be a huge event.

Maybe find a way to build it around Independence Day. Or bring in a Little League event since kids are out of school.

There’s no halftime in baseball to make a concert like in the Super Bowl but maybe they could have a mini show before or after the Home Run Derby. That could be cool.

Nothing to do in Tennessee but turn a racetrack into a baseball stadium for one game for two sorry teams(braves, reds).

Braves all stars Chris Sale and Ronald Acuna Jr. join Reds All-stars Elly De La Cruz and Andrew Abbott as they prepare to face off in the MLB Speedway Classic August 2nd at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Sunday- draft
Monday- HR derby
Tuesday- ASG

a big reason for why the Derby and ASG are on weeknights is because you're more likely to be home for it.

NBA All-Star Weekend has the benefit (for now) of being on a holiday weekend, but they also have less events. They also give everyone a week off which MLB wouldn't do unless you wanna keep pushing the season back more.
