This shows how amazing Ichiro was.

But it also shows how amazing Alex Rodriguez was. For him to have 1,354 hits at 26 years old is insane. You have to be elite from Day 1.

Yall must have forgot.

26 is an arbitrary number but shows some cool things. Robin Yount from what I read had a really weird career in that his absolute peaks were for short spurts and he had a decent chunk of his career being solid. Didn't know he started his career so amazingly.

Then I went to the bottom of the list as was surprised to see some of the best pure hitters lower on the list. I would not have expected guys like Boggs and Gwynn to be closer to the bottom than top. Especially because they are the 2nd and 3rd fastest to reach 3k hits :wow:

I know back then players spent more time in the minors but just shows you how consistent you have to be at an elite level to even come close. A lot of great players have 2k hits, but I don't think there are any fluke 3k hit guys, well except Jeter :mjpls:

Mariners arod was a problem 40/40 + .300 hitter and elite defensive ss. Led mlb in war before the 250 mil contract with Texas and his Yankees career

Dude was a phenomenal player before the negative publicity/roids etc

Was two 1st place votes away from winning MVP as a 20 year old in 96 :wow:
