That team had Edgar Martinez, Ken Griffey Jr, Alex Rodriguez, and Randy Johnson on it….at the same time…and didn’t win shyt.

What other franchise had 4 hall of fame level players and failed like that?
Than after losing them all except Edgar won 116 games and still didn’t win shyt

I've been rewatching Ohtanis performance from yesterday. He was throwing the curve and split with the slider, sinker and 4 seam. And he had them all oretty much goin. He gave up 2 hits . One was a bunt and the other was a infield fly ball that Rojas lost in the sun.

I say that to say I want him to give up pitching and focus on hitting cuz his bat is still more valuable than his arm imo. But when he has the entire repertoire going, the only pitcher seeing him is Skeenes. Its scary. What do u do with a talent like that? And he seems to genuinely love pitching and I believe its in his contract to pitch.

Imagine paying Juan fukkin Soto more money becuz he's allegedly younger. Mets dont deserve good things with that ridiculous contract.

Yesterday was a display of why Ohtani is worth what they paid him. Still overrated as a hitter tho. If he was hitting 300, that would be at least 6 more wins

The comments are gold. They was glazing the fukk out of Ohtani. Meanwhile Stl took 2/3 and the Padres are 2games back

Skubal, Crochet, and Eovaldi on their A game are all better than Ohtani as a pitcher.
I can name more.

Lies. Nobody is mixing that number of pitches

He's throwing a 4 seam at 100. A 2seam/sinker at a100. Now he's starting to throw a cutter. Like 2 different sliders, a curve and the split. And he throws them all at a high level.

Now, I doubt he's ever going to have the durability to ever actually be a legendary pitcher ir even have a complete season as a putcher, so it really doesn't matter. But for a game or 2 he can be the best pitcher in the league. A true ace level talent

You're wrong. Spencer Schwellenbach throws 6 different pitches.
I don't care about mixing pitches.
Eovaldi has a 1.38 ERA this season.
Ohtani can't even make it a full season as a pitcher. That matters.

Late 90s Cleveland Indians comes the closest IMO.

Some of those mid 2000s Yankees teams were stacked offensively as well.

The point was I wanted him to quit pitching and focus on hitting. He has potential to at least be Prime Griffey. But how can u tell someone who may be one of the most talented pitchers not to pitch. All that in one person has to be difficult to some degree. He just can't focus on 1 thing. Its a gift and a curse.

And Eovaldi career has not been an era that low. He's having his best season rn. Amd he's older than Ohtani

Don't compare Ohtani to Griffey. He was an elite defensive player.
You basically want Ohtani to be the Japanese David Ortiz because he's damn sure not gonna field any position at all.
