He's gonna be 29 next season and doesn't have a high amount of innings pitched.
I'd be cool with a short term higher annual value deal but we know these players want those long term deals.

I want the cubs to go after Bregman.Shaw can play 3b/ss/2b so he can be versatile utility player which helps the bench.Then sign cease(3-5 years high aav) or gallen(1-2 years prove it po/co) they have the dough they’re way under the 1st cbt and have mad contracts expiring after ‘26

Good offseason along with integrating the prospects(ballersteros,wiggins)will have the cubs in the nlcs/ws next season imo

Rather have Theo making these decisions over Jed but this an opportunity to really upgrade a 92 win team
