I just went back and rewatched the phone call/ park scene. When Martha called her parents she was at Woodley Park which is where Stan and the FBI went to go find her. Also where the Taft Bridge is.
When she called Phil she said she was at Rock Creek Park trailhead. Which is a few miles away from Woodley Park. Not hard to walk from one park to another in the half hour it took the FBI to get to Woodley Park.
I know some of you think they are dumbing down the FBI, but if the FBI wasn't looking at the right park it wouldn't be hard for Liz to walk Martha to her car and drive away. Even when Stan said to extend the FBI search 1.5 miles it he asked for them to extend it out east and west. Martha was already outside of their search area. Martha was north of them.
We also are tricked by the shows sequences shown. We don't know if by the time Stan is walking up on the bridge Martha is already picked up by the KGB? We assumed that she was still out there because they want the tension and for the the viewers to think they are going to find her. We don't know for sure.
Is this show flawed? Of course. All shows are. Is this show well written? Absolutely. Last episode was one of them too. We all assumed that they were in the same park nearby so they should have found her. We were all wrong.
Is it smart of the FBI to assume the person they are looking for is going to be in the exact same spot she was 15 minutes ago.
why would he only asked for it to be extended East/West? Does that make any sense to you? And we shouldn't be tricked by sequences in a well written show breh.

Not the vibe I got at all. The female Rezidentura agent is going to to have her killed off before she arrives in Russia.
as fukk. I wonder whose instruction she's following because she didn't tell the Center they had Martha.Arkady is gonna defect...I feel it![]()
if he only had fukked that horny bytch at the Rezidentura he wouldn't be on the outside on all these operations
its the 80s bro. They knew exactly where Martha was and she was on foot. Stan was at the bridge she was at a couple minutes earlier then she has the convo w/Elizabeth, gets punched and disappears out of no where. All in broad daylight w/the FBI trying to track down an american w/KGB ties. It doesn't mean the show is garbage overall but that was poor writing no doubt. Let me put it like this, if the writers wanted it to be that Martha was caught by the FBI would it have seemed impossible or some shyt for them to have found her that day?

show is great but you can point out flaws without being a hater. aint no reason for martha to have been scooped up by the KGB before the FBI got to her other than writing to help out the protagonists. They need to start taking some Ls this season thats one of my few problems with it is that they dont really take losses
.
. The KGB plan of recruiting young agents resulted in 2 of their agents dead, by their young son who fell in love with his handler
. She got murked too. Oleg just lost his brother and Nina took a bullet to the head. I can see some points though, but it's not like the KGB stays winning and I'm willing to make some concessions because of the nature of the show. If they get caught, the show is more or less over.
.
The time jump was weird. I'm not sure I got the point. I thought it was going to end with Gaad seeing Phil and catching on to him (like Hank in Breaking Bad).
