'Avengers: Infinity War' Director On Possibility Of Including Marvel Netflix Characters

While Marvel's cinematic universe continues to thrive, fans are wondering if it will ever officially cross over with the company's successful Netflix universe.

Fans have been asking that for some time now, and while there are light movie references in the television shows, it isn't the same when it comes to the movies. According to Infinity War co-director Joe Russo, it isn't really a priority at the moment either, though it is always at the back of their minds.

"We've all considered," Russo told Premiere.fr. "But the trick is that we already have at least sixty characters with whom we must tell a story! And it's hard enough to communicate with Taika Waititi, Ryan Coogler, Scott Derrickson, Peyton Reed and James Gunn at the same time, not to add all the showrunners and TV crews to this. The latter is also led by totally different people. So it's practically impossible. Our job is to focus on the Marvel film world and offer a satisfying climax."

The one area they've crossed o er the most is in Marvel's Agents of SHIELD, as Coulson was originally introduced in the movies before making his way to TV. Since then events there have tied into the MCU and an MCU star even appears now and again, but overall the two are still separate.

For his part, Daredevil actor Charlie Cox thinks the character would fit in with the Avengers just fine.

"Some people have said that they wonder about, based on the tone the show, how Matt would fit in with the Avengers," Cox told ComicBook.com. Well, the actor has some comic book knowledge to drop on you, doubters. "I was reading Civil War the other day, and Matt Murdock... is kind of an ass. He's in the back, standing around grumpy a lot of the time, and every now and again, he just says ‘Well, we're not doing that' or something to that effect, and I'm like, ‘That's the character, we're fine.' So tonally, with Matt I think we’re right on point and he’d be a perfect fit in the larger MCU."

On the Netflix side of things, Jessica Jones season 2 is currently available on the platform, while Luke Cage season 2 kicks off on June 22. Punisher season 2 and Daredevil season 3 are also expected later this year.

As for the MCU, Fans can still enjoy Black Panther, which is in theaters now. Avengers: Infinity Warlands in theaters on April 27, and Ant-Man and The Wasp soars into theaters on July 6. Captain Marvel hits theaters on March 8, 2019, followed by Avengers 4 on May 3, 2019.

North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
you're saying that like marvel movies are all great.. my nikka get off our high horse.. marvel had a head start and has a longer catalogue of movies, the opinion was always gonna be biased from the jump cause of that. thats why dumb shyt like boob jokes and sub par ultron and trash iron man 3 isnt criticised as much as ''ezra's running'' or ''Steppenwolf's VGI'' like marvel sgi is all top notch

lets be real and stop sucking dikk.. marvel fans are always gonna be biased form the GP cause they started this shyt first. simple as

we not gonna get into the quality of the movies now

:mjpls: Breh, Wonder Woman is comparable to Captain America: The First Avenger. So DCEU's best movie is comparable to one of Marvels bottom 5.

HOWEVER, if you compare the two movies, FA was meh but it led directly into the Avengers. It connected to the movies that came before (Thor) and after (Avengers) it. So if nothing else you were invested in the movie because of the Easter Eggs.

Wonder Woman on the other hand had no connections to the first movie other than the generic Wayne Enterprises plug. Most of the characters were forgettable, where as Buckey Barns is firmly entrenched in the MCU. His progression is as long as Caps. Even Agent Carter made cameo's in a few movies.

So you see, Wonder Woman was just a movie. First Avenger was a piece to the masterpiece puzzle that is the MCU.

A tree that is only able to say three words "I" "Am" and "Groot" in that particular order has been able to connect to audiences more than Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman combined.

It is what it is breh.

That's what makes this so great.

Even the worst mcu movies(not saying TFA is) are a part of a bigger puzzle that makes it important regardless.

:negatron: "too many jokes, red skull sucked blah blah blah"

Why are people talking about DC in this thread and not on IW? :why:

I mean, the Russo Bros directed this film....isn't that good enough? The comic book event of this decade, and people still talking about non Marvel films.

We're still over a month away from the worldwide release of Marvel's Avengers: Infinity War, but it seems a select few have been lucky enough to get an early look at The Russo Brothers' film.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn was clearly one of 'em, as he's just Tweeted out the following:

Gunn doesn't go into any detail, of course, but this does still count as our first reaction to the movie, and it's a four exclamation point-level positive one!

Okay, so an MCU director saying nice things about another MCU film doesn't exactly count as breaking news - but Gunn doesn't usually make a point of praising something he wasn't that into. At any rate, until we hear from someone who might be perceived as being a bit less biased, we'll take it!

Avengers: Infinity War is set to hit theatres everywhere on April 27.
