So you want Floyd to fight JMW and MW fighters, people 20-35 pounds higher than his walk around/fighting weight since he doesnt rehydrate like most fighters. A small lmw Cotto was able to pin him to the ropes, Floyd shouldnt be fighting at 154 and above although I felt he retained his speed and power, he's just giving up too many advantages, at higher weights, shyt lightweights rehydrate to 147 and Floyd fights a pound or 2 more than that.
What's next after that fight a HW, this is exactly why Floyd should retire soon, he's fighting himself at this point
Question though who would you be satisfied with Floyd fighting at this point and why do they deserve a Floyd shot???
I agree, I dont think there is anyone I want to see Floyd fight that deserves a shot. Floyd has not always fought the most deserving and challenging fighters at times those fights could be made. At the same time, he has gone through periods where there was no one really deserving or challenging for him to fight.
Yall dont really understand how down I was on boxing. Do you think Cotto could be FMJ in a rematch? If I dont think so, I really dont want to see it. Its cool to watch somebody like Rios, but I have seen Floyd enough and want to see a fight that is intriguing. I am not saying its all his fault there is none. We mentioned Alexander earlier, and I am sure Khan has been mentioned before, etc...but honestly, those arent intriguing fights either...although I would likely tune in.
Yall know that feeling you get when its a fight that has some risk or threat on both sides? I get that nervous feeling. I mean, when the bell is about to ring....I cant sit down. I gotta be standing up, close up on the action. I lost that feeling last year. Not just with FMJ, but I didnt want to see Martinez, Donaire, definitely no Klitschko fights.
I do blame FMJ at times, but at the same time, I now we cant ask but so much of him. Like I said in another post, at some point you are just asking too much. FMJ is part to blame though because maybe we wouldnt be asking so much if we felt we got our share earlier in his career.
