This nikka Donaire :snoop:

"I wanted to pressure him, but the problem is I didn't [step on the] pedal in the last two rounds. I thought I did enough to win this fight. But again, the decision was from the judges. At least it should have been a draw. If nobody had to win that fight it should have been a draw, but if somebody had to win that fight it should have been me because I made that fight happen. I don't want to be a sore loser because he was an excellent fighter, but he didn't want to engage. That was the problem, he didn't want to engage," Donaire said.

Well, no seeing as 'making the fight happen' isn't actually part of the scoring criteria. You'd might as well make a case for winning based on having nicer shoes or a prettier girlfriend or something.

Donaire's actually unwittingly making a case against himself. If your opponent isn't letting you fight your normal fight and is controlling the pace and rhythms of the fight, then he should be getting credit for ring generalship. If your moving forward but not making your opponent uncomfortable or inflicting damage your aggression is ineffective and the judges shouldn't be rewarding you credit.

Donaire vs. Juanma Clash The Next Target Says Arum - Boxing News
By Ronnie Nathanielsz

Dethroned WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito "The Filipino Flash" Donaire, who lost his title to former Cuban two-time Olympic gold medalist Guillermo Rigondeaux at the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York on Saturday, plans to move up in weight and fight former WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel "Juanma" Lopez
later this year.

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told BoxingScene.com/Manila Standard and ABS-CBN that Donaire "really struggled to make the weight and I think that took a little zip out of him and this kid Rigondeaux was awfully fast and awfully elusive."

Arum told us Donaire would "fight Lopez at 126 pounds in Puerto Rico towards the end of the year."

Noting that Donaire said he had a torn ligament in his right shoulder which his wife Rachel revealed was diagnosed sometime in February after Nonito felt some pain and he may have to undergo surgery. Arum indicated the fight date "depends on the operation."

He pointed out that Donaire "was not coming back until September anyway" because his wife Rachel is expecting their first child on July 21 and Donaire wanted to spend time with his newborn son and wife.

Southpaw Lopez is an aggressive fighter whose style would suit Donaire who likes to engage. "Juanma" won the WBO featherweight title from Steve Luevano who retired in the 7th round in his title defense on January 23, 2010 - but then lost to Mexico's rugged Orlando Salido by an 8th round TKO on April 16, 2011 before losing by a 10th round TKO in rematch on March 10 of last year.

Lopez had earlier successfully defended his super bantamweight title in a brutal battle with two division world champion Gerry Penalosa on April 25, 2009 when Penalosa was forced to retire by trainer Freddie Roach in the tenth round after a gallant stand while Bernabe Concepcion lost by a 2nd round TKO on July 10, 2010 after scoring a shock knockdown in the dying seconds of the opening round before being battered by Lopez in the second forcing the referee to call a halt.

The 29-year-old Lopez has a record of 32-2 with 29 knockouts

Guerrero is gonna go through some serious pain. Seems like floyd is getting stronger as he gets older. First time floyd lands that left hook to the body its going to be the start of the end. Floyd gonna knock him down atleast once

Floyd always had legit power, he had one punch fight changing power before his hands deteriorated. You are right though he has been stting down on his punches much more recently, showing convictions in his hands contrary to the past.

If Floyd sits on his punches, then yes. I was watching a Sugar Shane interview and he was saying that Floyd hits harder than Manny and Canelo. I can believe the former, not too sure on the latter but still, hell of a compliment to have.

Cotto also said Mayweather had more power than Manny:manny:

Manny never was a big puncher, it was more so of his angles speed and accumulation that ko'ed people, he forgot that, when he and the world started overrating his power post Hatton

I hope that Floyd lets his hands go like he was doing a bit against Ortiz. Rafael Garcia got those hand wraps like :whoo::ahh:

that's skippy. he tends to get overexcited at times. :pachaha: If Donaire is a B fighter then he is B+. If he is P4P top 10 though, then that shows that we dont have a lot of great fighters at this time. He has a good body of work but be careful not to overrate it. Most of the fighters were tailor made for him. He pretty much stays in or around the top 10 because his resume is stronger than most fighters out there. Its his performance in this fight that makes him look so bad.

I feel you breh, it's just the nature of the game now. You got more boxer stans than you do actual boxing fans nowadays. Donaire lost fair and square and him not training well and taking Rigo lightly is his fault, but now you got everybody saying he was exposed, and he wasn't HOF material, and etc..

Donaire was one of the rare cats who was icing dudes cold at the elite level (Vic and Montiel), but nikkas act like that wasn't impressive at all.
