Word out of Canada is that Kevin Bizier is the new IBF mandatory challenger to face IBF welterweight champion Devon Alexander. Golden Boy is hoping to put that fight on the May 18th date in Atlantic City originally scheduled for Alexander’s defense against Kell Brook, before that bout fell through for the third time.

Bizier’s promoter Yvon Michel told RDS “We need to assess the overall situation and take a decision accordingly.”

One stumbling block is the availability of Bizier’s trainer Marc Ramsey, who is training Antonin Decarie for his April 27 against Luis Carlos Abregu in Argentina, followed by Jean Pascal for his May 25 Canadian super fight against Lucian Bute in Montreal.

Macau huh? Is that why HBO Boxing was all over it for that Zou Shiming fight, and had the lil profile story on what Macau is becoming?

I remember reading a big article about Macau in a Maxim mag like 10 years ago. Sounds like it's insane out there with the big ballers & extravagant everything.

I wonder why they never have fights in Dubai?

Roger will be fine you get the feeling he was almost nudging Floyd to retirement in the Cotto 24/7 cause he was getting burnt out, then the showed a screenshot of him dead asleep before Floyd could even chime back that he still goes hard, then said get rest unc.Floyd is trying to preserve his uncle's life, to train a fighter like Floyd you have to be a gym rat yourself and give it your 100%, with Roger disease he's not able to do that. There should be no hard feelings, by taking on Floyds fight it could shorten Roger's life, not to mention Floyd would never forgive himself if his father passes and not let him get some of that shine, Roger needs to understand all those things

while you make excellent points from your perspective, I can make a case the other way. as a person living with diabetes and controlling with diet and exercise...not medication...I think Roger not training Floyd could be the opposite. yes, he is slowing down but thats not because of the disease, thats because he is getting old. Roger needs to stay active and training Floyd helps him do this. I hope its not a permanent decision and hopefully we can see both Sr and Roger in the camp and corner together. Of course I have nothing but love for Jr bringing Sr into his camp. its a win strategically and mentally.

i wouldn't call JMM an average puncher..dude has a high KO percentage ...and i wouldn't call the mexican rambo version of him that knocked manny cold average in any sense of the word...any 140-147 fighter would have been ko'ed if they walked right into that cross counter

i do agree manny needs a soft touch but who's to say mike wasn't softened up enough by the 2 rios fights lol

no matter how hard or soft you hit, the punch your opponent walks into or doesnt see....its the one that turns out his lights. its happened before. first fight that comes to mind is when Ottke KOed Mudine. the punch that Manny got hit with was way more brutal than that.

Alvarado is a good fight for him. Its a tough fight that he would be expected to win. Rios is a punching bag. Manny would give him more punishment than what its worth for a punchers chance. I dont agree with Skip that Alvarado is better than Rios, its just that Rios neglects defense so much and rarely uses some of the boxing ability that he does have. They are evenly matched in my book as far as skills, its just that one guy is a dumb fighter (the kind most fans like) and the other is a little smarter.

Ortiz would murk bradley, if the little Prov had him on chicken legs 90% of the fight what would a fight changing puncher like Ortiz do, and also someone who will come into the ring 160 pounds Bradleys size, don't hold getting ko'ed by Mayweather, and getting his jaw broke in a fight he was clearly winning skew your perception of him

You hate on Ortiz but the truth is Bradley was lucky to get his little win vs Manny a fight where Manny clearly took his foot off the gas for whatever ulterior reasons and still put Bradley in a wheelchair for months. THen Bradley the 147 pound champ punk ass brings up a 140 pound fighter to his division gets the ass whipping of his life and saved by the bell. I love Bradley too but Ortiz decapitates him too much power too much speed, too good of a chin to be bothered by Bradleys feathers, only way Timmy wins is getting into Ortiz head.

SN: Anybody heard Bradleys interviews recently he still sounds badly punch drunk the Prov fight might of ruined him

no and no.

Ortiz...good puncher, but not nearly as powerful at 147 against solid opposition as he was when he was blowing through bums at 140.
To say ANYONE easily KO's Bradley is absurd. Bradley is SUPREMELY conditioned. Not sure anyone besides FMJ or BHop is as conditioned as Bradley. His ability to take a shot is because of his tremendous fighting shape, not his beard so much. The moment Bradley slacks up on training, he's getting knocked out, but dont expect it to happen til that time.

Prov has something Ortiz doesnt, its called intestinal fortitude. It doesnt take much to get in his head, just show him that you came to fight and wont lay down...(which is pretty much Bradley's M.O.) and its a wrap for him. He's a younger version of the Tyson that fought McBride.

What Bradley has and Ortiz lacks in substance is pretty much the difference between a good fighter and a mediocre one.

Well he did knock him down quite a few times. :heh:

My problem with Bradley is that he's too damn fast to be so defensively inept

2 fights come to mind to me where the champions were heavy favorites and I had a gut feeling they would lose by abandoning their boxing skills and underestimating their opponents.

one was Forrest (RIP) vs Mayorga
the other was Berto vs Ortiz.

Berto shouldve never lost that fight. A couple of those KDs where where Berto got careless and walked into shots or was caught off balance. One of them was an accumulation of punches. He was never in any more danger of being put away by Ortiz than Ortiz was of him. Berto in the middle of the ring was clearly outboxing him with his hand and foot speed. In close quarters, Ortiz was able to do work. Skill wise they are pretty evenly matched. the problem is, Berto thought he was gonna blow through Ortiz but Ortiz' career was on the line so he came to fight that night.

Other than that, Ortiz is a later version of Popo Freitas. He quit against Maidana, he quit against Floyd (yes, he quit), and he quit against Lopez.

What the hell are you talking about? Bradley had pac man throwing combo's and missing the entirety of them, multiple times. That's how he hurt his ankle

I'm talking about Ortiz knocking Berto on his ass.

And did you not see what happen to Bradley three weeks ago? nikka was dazed and confused from round 6 to 12.
