you are looking at it wrong breh....Floyd said he doesnt do catchweights...meaning he dont meet in between weights to fight. Manny vs Margs was a CW because Manny wanted a fight in another division even though he didnt weigh in at the division limit....so by adding a CW you dont give a fighter the opportunity to weigh in at his divisional limit. DLH-Hopkins was a CW. (just so you dont think I am picking on Manny)

CW is if Floyd asked Canelo for a JMW fight but does not allow him to use the JMW limit. He is not doing that, he is asking him to fight as a WW. Whether you agree with that or not, you are not wrong for doing so. However you would be wrong for calling it a CW.

Floyd vs Juan Manuel Marquez was a catchweight fight:hula:

And everybody is discrediting Andre Ward's victory because of Chad Dawson being weight drained......would you like that to be on Floyd's resume? That he had to drained Alvarez in order to beat him?
I think that's better than an L because he went up to 154, where he's hasn't looked as good, hasn't made it up to 154 (only 151 for Cotto), and fights a guy that will be around 170 lbs on fight night.

I read recently that Floyd is refusing to do it at a catchweight too, and that won't cut it. Floyd/Canelo will have to happen at 150 or 154. I don't think Canelo and GB will let him go out like DLH or Cotto against Pac.

Bottomline is if Floyd doesnt fight Saul Alvarez at 154 lbs.....it's gonna be another duck on his resume.

If he never would've fought Cotto at 154 and talked slick about Pac and his opponents being comfortable, he wouldnt be in this position.

All he can do now is pray that Alvarez loses to somebody:yeshrug:

I'm not saying Canelo would win, because I think Floyd would still win the fight, but fights are won in the ring....not on message boards.

Floyd's legacy cannot take another duck on it.

What if Canelo loses to Cotto in the Setember?
That's the excuse Floyd needs

That's what I'm saying.

He's gonna need somebody to beat Canelo if he's unwilling to fight Alvarez at 154 because of the size difference, because if not, he's gonna have to take the fight at that 154 weight limit.

No catchweight, no weight draining, no excuses.

Canelo/Floyd isn't happening anytime soon...if it does happen I would say it would be Floyd's last fight on his Showtime contract.
GBP has big plans for Canelo and they aren't going to risk derailing those by having him fight Floyd prematurely and look bad as Floyd dances around him and potshots him for 12 rounds leading up to a unanimous Floyd decision victory.
Canelo's schedule will be Cotto in Sept. in Canelo's first headline PPV; probably have Victor Ortiz come up in weight to be a sacrificial lamb for Canelo; if Ishe Smith still has the IBF belt I can see a fight against Ishe as part of the buildup to fight Floyd (Canelo against Floyd's promotion arms only champ); a mandatory against Erislandy Lara
All of those fights would happen before Canelo ever even got into serious negotiations with Floyd.

it is..give it some time Al..broner will eventually copy floyd's "matchmaking" strategy then we'll see what @Newzz says about him

He has already. nikka is fighting paulie..:pachaha:

I personally think Al Haymon runs shyt. He tells floyd who to fight(like broner).

Much as I shyt on Bob I will tell you this.under TR he fought good tuff competition.
