Not ruling out the fukked over time theory but I have had both my mouth and nose busted open with one of these facesaver guards on before which are supposed to give even more protection that those open faced ones

Also it might not even have been a punch that did the damage. A lot of people don't tie up their gloves properly in sparring and majority of black eyes I've had have been through open wrist parts of gloves scraping my face

Yeah i had my nose busted with a Winning one on.

Agree re black eyes and cuts. 9/10 it's my own gloves hitting my face during guard. I stopped using that velcro lace thing altogether now. Just get trainers or Joe Blow to lace me up before sparring.

I had to look this up; I can't believe Rios got the Manny fight after losing to Alvarado.

I could've sworn it came after Rios battered the methed out corpse of Alvarado.

rios vs alvarado 2 was ridiculous

rios prolly got the fight because he lost the fight and pac was coming off a knockout loss too

alvarado got upgraded to full world champion and got battered by ruslan for his troubles
