It was supposed to be a double farewell to two of the most popular female fighters of all time, Playboy cover-girl Mia St. John and TOUGH Christy Martin (only been stopped once, against the much bigger Laila Ali)
They had fought once before, Martin won easily, both are beyond washed up at this point of their career, St. John was never good to begin with but gained popularity through her looks/playboy
St. John won handily and what the gif doesn't show is her immediately hugging Martin after the combination and screaming out loud, it was a bit emotional for her considering the circumstances for both women.

Doctor never even properly attended to her...then they had to call his sorry ass back, and even then he was like
Pure incompetence. Once a KO occurs, doctors are supposed to surround and thoroughly check the person like their life depends on it because IT DOES.
The ref did his thing, but the commission and/or the doctor needs to get their shyt together. It's hard enough for women's boxing, an avoidable death is NOT needed...
