Former title holder, one loss, still a top tier 175 fighter and would be one hell of a challenge for hard hitting Stevenson. Wouldn't bet on it going the distance either
He, Stevenson and Kovalev are the hardest hitting sum bytches in the division right now
As far as other title holders are concerned...
-Hopkins is a Golden Boy guy, and that's Showtime...so nah, I don't see it happening
-Cleverly.......it's possible, very possible since he's fought on US TV before (though that was Showtime) and wants to unify and Froch has turned him down. His mandatory, Braehmer would have to wait
-Shumenov.......wants to unify as well, don't matter who.
-Fonfara (IBO)........locked in 8/16 against Campillo.
Stevenson also has a mandatory in Tony Bellew, but HBO would rather pay for a bout with Cloud, rightfully so.
So there you have his possible next opponents for HBO (yes, he's locked in with HBO for his next bout)
Cleverly, Shumenov, Cloud or Bellew.........win-win for us with either of these guys

Im looking at the match up. Not the individual fighter.
Its a no point match, Stevenson doesnt build any fans by beating a guy a 50 year old Bhop didnt break a sweat vs, and if Cloud wins imagine how that further fukks things up

Yeah, I can't front. Cloud vs Stevenson would be a pretty good scrap. Both are power punchers in their primes with so so defense and boxing skills. How can that not turn out exciting? Yeah, I get that Hopkins beat Cloud, but it wasn't no domination like the Pavlik and Tarver fights. He won about 8 uneventful rounds in a fight that nobody really was pumped up to see in the first place.
Let Stevenson be in some more fan friendly fights before throwing him on the senior circuit to face old man Hops.
Besides, Hopkins' place in the sport is already solidified. I don't really care to see this nikka fight anymore and get main event status over younger more entertaining boxers who need an opportunity to shine.

i don't mind cloud-stevenson, i see it as stevenson first defense in montreal and at the same time trying to build him up as a draw like pascal and bute are in montreal. if it does happen, i hope it's a double header though.
A good fight is Stevenson vs Ward
I just dont see the point of the fight, especially if Ward has no opponents to face, why should Stevenson fight a tough Cloud potentially lose, and further fukk up Wards only potential opponent at this point, looking through HB O's eyes it make little sense, none......
