Probably because he had the build of a light heavyweight.
That “man down” Spence is long gone.
We now got the alcoholic, diabetic, paraplegic version of Spence that has been forced to retire due to letting his vices get the best of him.

that's why it was crazy to me that ppl could not see that spence was taxed..all types of foolish things were said prior to that crawford fight..that clip you see spence still had life in his eyes and everything....a complete 180 from today's spence
Yeah he was done. The old Spence had that killer demeanor like Crawford does. He no longer had that prior to that fight. When he was coming up, I never would have thought he would be the type of guy to let the temptations get the best of him. He seemed focus

I 100% get this point of view, but I feel like when the conversations with Spence are always two separate conversations that somehow merge into one
Yes Spence had a bad lifestyle
But also Yes regardless of lifestyle, he still had defensive flaws in the ring early in his career that he never corrected
It was evident in the Lamont Peterson fight and the Porter fight. The shots he was getting caught with. Those two couldn't take advantage because Lamont was smaller, and Porter didn't have the punching power. Someone with the punching power to make him pay like a Thurman or Crawford was always going to have an advantage over him
This was going to be his career destiny whether he drank a bottle of liquor or not
