I don't think he has any chance, especially at 68. SOG has the IQ but I don't think he has the foot speed or power to bother RJJ. Thinking about his fights with Sosa, JT, Reggie Johnson, & Virgil Hill, RJJ was god-like in his prime.

I think Ezzard Charles definitely gives his problems
Prime Roy is a monster. I can’t favor anybody over him at 168/175 but there’s guys that COULD beat him.

Maybe only Ezzard Charles and Andre Ward have a chance. But that speed and power combo was just too much for those two weight classes.

I’d make Michael Spinks a slight favorite over Roy Jones at 175.

Bob Foster too.

Not exactly the same, but SOG vs RJJ first makes me think of Manny vs JMM. Both are outwardly different stylistically but it woulda made for a fantastic fight

Both guys would give Roy problems if not could beat him. They were big strong guys for the division.

If this was the RJ around the time he beat Virgil (28/29), they would be great fights. I could see Foster getting clipped

i hated this fight :francis:

Tsyzu seemed almost indestructible up to this point, he had an aura similar to say Golovkin or say a younger Chavez, it was a shock to see him lose in that manner (Phillips loss aside), he was on such a run up until that fight (Gonzalez, Chavez, Judah, Mitchell).

In recent years he's stated he was really weight drained/sick going into the fight aka 'no excuses, but I'mma give some excuses'.

Hatton's win imo reconstructed how the boxing public (and fighters) viewed bodyshots, there was a newfound appreciation for how effective they can be in the fights aftermath.

Injuries broke him down and his body couldn't handle the rough shyt Hatton did...he looked so old..I disliked Hatton ever since.

No doubt he won the first two, anybody that says otherwise is Mexican or mentally impaired. The third I gotta watch again then, from memory he lost by a few rounds at least.
I guess I'm in the minority. The only controversial decision imo is the first fight. The other two I thought Canelo won
