This whole post is the definition of being inconsistent
Its ok for Shane not to fight Floyd cause he was bigger, but when Mayweather says hes bigger than Freitas and Casamayor its a issue
Then you want to criticize Floyd for not fighting Johnston(who had Floyd lined up when he lost to Lazcano) when he was number one, but slight Floydie for fighting a man that arguably beat Johnston twice and was the
NUMBER 1 fukking fighter in Castillo....................
Duke...your history is shaky. Johnston didnt lose to Lazcano until AFTER he had lost his belt to Castillo. WTF would Floyd want to fight the nikka for then unless it was a bytch move? When Stevie defended that belt 9 times and called out Shane and Floyd they didnt want him.
As for Shane being bigger name, I said "thats the way it is". They both ducked each other if thats your definition of a duck. I never said it was ok and never gave Shane a pass for that. I said thats what happened.
Anyway, to close this out..because its other shyt to talk about...
A lot of yall dudes is fans of BOXERS. Me..I am a fan of BOXING. So I try not to show any bias. If Roy was a ducker, so was Floyd. If Floyd wasnt, then neither was Roy. Simple as that.
My point is this...and yall can tell me what yall think...but...
Floyd fought Castillo twice and Corrales once then moved on. After that you had a great round robin of fights consisting of Corrales, Castillo, Casamayor, and Freitas. ALL on Showtime IIRC. We got a lot of great fights out of those. A Corrales-Casa trilogy (never forget when Casa hit him so hard it split his mouthpiece and went through his lip/cheek!) A near Corrales-Castillo trilogy which produce one of the all time classic fights. Casa vs Castillo, Casa vs Freitas, Freitas vs Corrales.
That was a great time for 130-135. Great fights, and the best fighting the best. Just think what it wouldve been like if Floyd wouldve been in that mix? He never wanted it though. And they called Roy reluctant...and went as far as to attempt to "Roycott" his fights. If he had dudes like that he wouldve fought them but everyone was overseas.
I would never knock Floyd for being a businessman...but for anyone to sit here and say he actually wanted to fight Casa or Freitas yet it never happened because it takes two to make a fight?? insisting that Freitas or Casamayor rather face each other is ridiculous.
Just think if Floyd was in that mix. It was like a throwback to the days of SRL, Hearns, Duran, Hagler, Benitez. Obviously Floyd followed the blueprint laid by SRL...because when it came down to it...neither of them wanted it. The difference is....SRL beat better opposition.
