Because they know he isn't going to fly anywhere, he's like BA from the A Team. You have to trick him with milk laced with something to make him sleep.

He was willing to go to Denmark and fight Mikkel Kessler again.....Goossen didnt come through.

Desperate times cause for desperate measures.

Bronco McKart still fighting?:dahell:

Harrison-McKart kick off new Motor City boxing series
34iR6ak.jpg

In the lobby of the fabled and newly renovated Cobo Hall, and under the shadow of the imposing statue of Joe Louis, Tony Harrison and Bronco McKart met the press to discuss their May 30th match for the UBO middleweight title.:dahell: Their contest is the first of a series of fights to be held at this venerable downtown Detroit location, as announced by promoters KP Productions (George & John Kaltsas). The fighters exhibited extreme professionalism and respect for each other although both stated that folks should not misinterpret this as leading to a tame affair. Both predicted an action filled, exciting fight that they both badly want to win.

Tony Harrison: “I’ve been looking forward to this fight ever since I turned pro, being able to fight someone like Bronco McKart here in Cobo Hall. It’s hard to get mad at Bronco, he’s a great guy but come May 30th all that friendship is over. I’m coming to put on a show.”

Bronco McKart: “I’ve never trash talked any opponent throughout my whole career. I admire the way Tony carries himself in and out of the ring, he has great ability and a great future. Some see me getting steamrolled in this fight. I don’t think so. I’ve got a lot left,:comeon: it will be a great fight.”

Matchmaker Carlos Llinas is working to fill out the undercard that will feature many of the city’s young pros. Mike Portillo, James Countryman, James Smith, Dorrell Van Horn, Jr, Anthony Barnes, Leandre White, Ed Williams, Dwayne Zeigler, James Ballard and Jafar Mohamed are all tentatively scheduled to appear. A women’s match is also being made.

Tickets on sale at neptix.com. General admission is $35, with premium seating at $55, first row at $100, and table seating at $125/$115. Doors open at 6 PM, first fight at 7.

Andre Ward on Facing Kovalev, Golovkin, More

Posted by: Luis Sandoval on 5/7/2014 .
By Luis Sandoval

Andre Ward may not have fought in the ring since November of last year but he’s still been fighting outside of it trying to break free from his current promoter Goossen Tutor.

There is a pending lawsuit filed in the California Superior Court and while both sides had agreed to continue working together during the proceedings, no fights have been made.

When looking at Ward’s options, some have said a move to Light Heavyweight is the next logical move as many feel Ward has exhausted his options at Super Middleweight. But Ward points to the fact that the options are even more limited 7 pounds north.

“I’m not a Light Heavyweight guys and that’s what it is. I know that there’s been a lot of noise of Kovalev but that’s one fight. That’s not even a pay per view fight. That’s a premium network television fight. And then when I get there, beat Kovalev they’re going to say he’s just a puncher, one dimensional, and then where do I go from there? I’m stuck at Light Heavyweight with no options,” declared Ward.

Ward feels the best place for him is right where he’s currently at as there are two fighters that could provide the big fight he’s looking to land. One of them already has entered the division and the other appears to be on his way in.

“There are options. [Gennady] Golovkin is an option. [Julio Cesar] Chavez [Jr] is an option but those guys have been allowed to circumvent fighting the best guy. Golovkin’s built his reputation on saying he’ll fight anybody. I raise my hand and say I’m somebody. Let’s do it. [But] nothing. And then they circumvent and try to go to Chavez. First they said we’re going to stay at 160 and clean it out. Then Chavez fell through and now it’s something else,” Ward would tell BoxingScene and other members of the media.

Ward is in need of the right dance partner to make his pay per view debut but the two fighters that could offer him that opportunity decided to try and fight each other instead. The only good news for Ward is Chavez is refusing to sign a contract extension with promoter Top Rank in order to secure the Golovkin fight so that fight may not happen after all.

Despite everything, Ward is focused on trying to land a fight but whoever it ends up being, it won’t be at 175 pounds.

“When people say there are not fights, there are more fights at 168 for me than at 175. [Adonis] Stevenson is gone. There’s one fight and it’s not even a pay per view fight so I just want to understand this push to Light Heavyweight. I’m not a Light Heavyweight. I don’t walk around 200 [pounds] or 190”.

I would not even be sure that Ward/Golovkin is guaranteed to be a PPV bout...that match is just as likely to be on HBO as a fight against Kovalev would be.
Ward's best shot at PPV is Chavez Jr. or to try and get a fight with the winner of Sergio/Cotto.

If Harrison lets a 44 year old Bronco McKart beat him then after the bout I think he should immediately go on CareerBuilder and start looking for a new line of work because boxing isn't the job for him.

We just wanna see our dream matches breh. Please don't mind us.

@Newzz neggas in the gym bashing Broner saying he has no talent and he's ignorant. I asked them to tell me 2 boxers better than AB at 140 that have moved to 147 and won their fights. They said Danny and Mathysse. I asked em if they saw Danny-Herrera and they were like we'll it's not like he got KO'd. So I asked em what if Danny fought Maidana too and they were like :dwillhuh:

Yeah, people just be talking shyt about AB (casuals) and dont know what the hell they be talking about. It's the "in thing" to bash Broner.

I will accept the trash talk if you know boxing, but when people respond like they did to you, I just shake my head and laugh because I know it's just pure hate and not any boxing analysis used:manny:

AB's an a$$hole...we all know that. However, the boy can box and has talent. He's currently a B fighter who still has potential to be better imo. He hasnt reached his ceiling yet and has more things he can learn and utilize in the ring with the correct trainer. Mike Stafford's comments after the Broner vs Molina fight TELLS me that Stafford is not the right trainer for Broner anymore. They've leveled off together. In order for Broner to become better, he needs a new trainer.

Why wouldnt the #2 P4P fighter in the world, who is CALLING OUT the biggest names in his division (GGG and JCC Jr) not deserve to have his fight on PPV?

He's saying that if he moved up to 175, who would he fight? Stevenson is now on Showtime, so that's not an option.

Kovalev, who's the 2nd biggest fighter there currently (Ward & Hopkins arent fighting each other) loses to Ward and people are gonna immediately call him an overhyped, unproven, Euro Bum.....and then what? He's seen it all happen before when he ran through Froch, Kessler, and Abraham....he already knows what it is:manny:

GGG vs Ward and JCC Jr vs Ward is what the true boxing head should wanna see at 168. How the hell you in a division, but dont wanna fight and prove yourself the best?:dahell:

GGG is not in Ward's division. He will only fight at 168 for JCC Jr because of his name. It's no different then fighters who are willing to meet Floyd at a certain weight.

As far as JCC Jr, his weight is all over the place. He's having promotional issues. Until he gets his situation taken care of, he's not an option right now.

Ward needs to focus on realistic options.

@ 175, he has Kovalev & Pascal. Pascal is a big money fight. It's not a PPV fight, but it's a nice paycheck.
