You're a fool if you think interim straps are a joke. As long as you have to fight another nikka to get it, it means something.. and they're the best way of determiningthe #1 contender for the real strap..

Algeiri also has more career momentum with that Provodnikov win than Vargas and Postal do even though they both got recent victories over solid opponents. Ruslan is the better win.

lol @ holyfield retiring. Boxing has got to be the only sport where active fighters, in my mind, have been retired for years now.

Look at Morales. He retired this year officially. In my mind, he's been retired since '07

Look at Roy Jones. Active fighter. In my mind, this nygga has been retired since '05

James Toney. Active fighter. He's been retired since those Sam Peter fights in my mind.

Yeah I've obviously seen some of their recent fights, but when it gets to a point where you have hall of fame fighters participating in fights that mean absolutely nothing, they're retired to me.
