I think GGG deserves to be the favorite, but Jacobs will surely be the best fighter GGG has faced. Should tell us a lot about GGG fighting a guy who has more overall talent than his past opponents. Jacobs can crack too. Always dangerous to fight a good opponent who has the threat of real power.

I certainly expect GGG to go into Lemieux mode and fight more conservative...again Abel with the lies saying it will be a brawl from the beginning, the key will be in adjustments. Jacobs is more dynamic than Lemieux and won't let just a jab beat him and GGG will be forced to diversify.

I don't like Jacobs thinking he can follow the Brook blueprint. Jacobs is more athletic than past GGG opponents, but Kell was still a 147 lb fighter, hard to duplicate that natural speed and exploit the same weaknesses. Jacobs success will come from his own strengths. He can move around, has decent speed, and solid power. I also don't think Jacobs chin will look as bad as a lot of GGG fanboys think it will be. Pirog was a fight Jacobs wasn't right for and vs. Mora he was being a bit reckless. Jacobs will keep himself more disciplined vs. GGG.

He is definitely talented and has a ton of speed, power and skill to give GGG problems. Idk though because I watched the Pirog fight and yeah Pirog was hella elusive in there. They are very different but I think that pirog's footwork was key. Shifting with his stances coming in and out of range which is a little something I see with GGG at times. Its unorthodox and hard to prepare for and that gave Jacobs issues. Though I will say Danny's footwork is nothing to sneeze at either and I've seen him fight well off the backfoot.

Mora was just so damn awkward like you never knew what to expect with him. Even in the contender he had me baffled.

Good news for boxing fans worldwide! With no televised boxing in many countries until mid-January, CBC TV in Japan has announced that they will present a free worldwide stream of the December 31 world title clash between Kosei Tanaka (7-0, 4 KOs) and Moises Fuentes (24-2-1, 13 KOs) for the vacant WBO light flyweight title at the Memorial Center in Gifu, Japan. The 21-year-old Tanaka won the WBO minimumweight title in just his fifth fight. Fuentes has previously held both the WBO minimumweight and light flyweight titles. The fight will air live 1AM ET, 10PM PT in the USA and 6AM GMT.

This is an opportunity for boxing fans worldwide to see a great fight, and just how good the highly regarded Tanaka really is.

According to Fres Oquendo’s trainer Nate Jones, a WBA heavyweight world championship fight between Oquendo and Shannon Briggs will be announced shortly.

WBA super lightweight champion Ricky Burns (41-5-1, 14 KOs) and IBF jr welterweight champion Julius Indongo (21-0, 11 KOs) could meet in a 140-pound title unification clash. Fightnews.com® has been informed that talks are underway. From the IBF end, a unification supersedes a mandatory so Indongo could do it. He won the title with a spectacular first round KO over reigning champ Eduard Troyanovsky earlier this month. Burns was last seen in the ring defeating #1 ranked Kiryl Relikh in October.

Just happy that GGG got an excellent opponent in Jacobs. He is the second best MW to me and I have always rooted for Danny. @patscorpio, I know you root for GGG to, will you be laying down any money? I thought I heard someone say 8-1 odds. GGG deserves to be the fav, but those odds are a bit high to me.

They're having him compete against the NBA All-Star Saturday night....and he's fighting in Cincinnati.............and I already bought tickets to the Celebrity & Rising Stars Challenge to be in New Orleans that same all star weekend which means I won't see him live????

@Newzz they moved that broner-granados card to feb 18th...they reiterated it in the boxingscene article along with those 3 fights being on there...and it will be in Cincinnati at the us bank arena..plus thats a 3 day weekend with presidents day being on the 20th...im thinking i may need to be in the house for this
