Guerrero is like that one turd that refuses to get flushed down the toilet.

nikka just keeps spinning around and bobbing up and down staring at you. :snoop:

I have no problem with Guerrero fighting a guy like Devon Alexander or Joseito Lopez on an undercard, but why the fukk he gotta be the stand in opponent for main event marquee match ups.

Like Swift and Thurman ain't bounce enough haymakers off his skull already. :picard:

and then that cab driver took what was left and threw it against the wall...

I mean damn, this nikka playing career mode with the infinite health cheat code.
No matter what you do, you can't' end his career. He'll find his way back on your tv in the main event. :mjcry:

N watch Ghost slump Khan or Batter Berto again N hes back in the mix woofin for a rematch title shot :dead:

HBO is pushing him but his TV #s aren't the best

Crawford gets the KO most of the time... Got Bob N TR also pushing him

Only reason I can see he's not getting elevated is his opp (that didn't effect GGG tho)

He should be calling out AB for months now...beat Broner... get more recognized with casuals...bring more to the table in a fight vs Manny

I don't know why people sleeping on porter-Thurman tho?:francis: like besides dillain-chisora I don't see anything coming close.:manny:

That Moreno fight definitely belongs there though. That shyt had back and forth action and both were getting dropped. Ended with a KO too.

IMO the best fights of 2016 were (in no order)

Porter/Thurman
Salido/Vargas
Whyte/Chisora
Yamanka/Moreno
Gonzalez/Cuadras
Easter/Commey

because those fights had nikkas landing bombs and even though dudes took them, there were moments where cats got hurt or rocked bad and you wouldn't know what could happen next.

Fights like Frampton/Cruz and Linares/Corrolla and etc...were very good fights, but lacked that extra drama to say they were fights of the year, even though the action and pace were steadily good.

Even GGG vs Brook was damn good for what it was. That shyt was intensely entertaining, because nobody seen Golovkin get lit up like that before. So the surprise factor made that fight better even tho it ended kinda lame. Still no fight of the year tho.

Edit...Charlo vs JRock definitely deserved a mention. That had FOTY written all over it. Back and Forth action, sick KO. That fight got slept on.

you bring up good arguments..as you know im not a big fan of minimalist boxing (great term by the way breh) myself..my arguments for Ward-Kovalev being a FOTY was because of the following

1. it was a significant fight at 175
2. there was an ebb and flow
3. There was drama, both in fight and after that, that kept people talking about for weeks...if it wasn't for the abundance of ward stanning in the post fight thread comments it could have been the classic thread like swift-peterson was
4. It was a very close fight. ward was the winner but he was the one that looked more busted up than kovalev
5. both fighters showed more sides to their game: Kovalev can actually truly box along with his power and Ward can dig deep if needed

its not salido-vargas, thurman-porter, chisora-whyte, or commey-easter jr..but it was better than fights like frampton-santa cruz to me

I feel where you coming from, but that's like saying a chick is a dime, because she can cook, clean, and throw hands.

Yeah thats cool, but that ain''t got shyt to do with how she looks.

Swift vs Peterson was a wayyyy better fight than Ward vs Krusher. Those last 4 rounds were better than the whole Ward/Kovalev fight and prolly the 1st half of the rematch whenever that happens.

Frampton vs Cruz was wayyyyy better than Ward/Krusher too. That fight gets overrated a lil since some nikkas tried to put it up there with Thurman n Porter and Salido and Vargas, but that was a damn good fight too. Just missed that extra drama to make it classic.

I gotta disagree with you on that.

The best fight awards are for the best fights. Its not called the most significant fights of the year.

Ward and Kovalev was significant for the sport and was intense, but that shyt don't belong nowhere near a fukking best fight of the year list. shyt was a dud entertainment wise (at least for me, cuz I know some nikkas get off by watching 2 nikkas pose and posture for 12 fukking rounds and the final combined punch total is barely 800)

That was pretty damn good list tho.

I almost forgot about the fukkery from that JuanMa fight. :mjlol:
We'd really need two different awards though cause a good pub fight (Whyte vs Chisora, Salido vs Vargas) is very entertaining but so is a tense chess match between two highly skilled fighters (Ward vs Kovalev, J Rock vs Charlo) and the two gives different kind of entertainment, comparing them is like comparing apples with oranges imo plus the Rafael like meatheads only gonna really appreciate the former category.
