Crawford gets the KO most of the time... Got Bob N TR also pushing him

Only reason I can see he's not getting elevated is his opp (that didn't effect GGG tho)

but arum should know how to promote a fight and build craw. he should be telling him to try to fight jmm/cotto/broner... mexi/rican/black fan base and if he wins those then fight pac.

but nope.:yeshrug:

BoxingScene 2016 Prospect of The Year - Luis Nery - Boxing News

opinions?

I admit I doN't know much about Nery I mostly follow the sport 122 and up plus names like Inoue and Chocolatito so bantamweight is just out of my sight

I still don't see the big fuss about Gvozdyk though. But maybe cause I hate that mechanic style he has so I can't appreciate what others see in him idk... He didn't look like a world beater to me. His fight against Chilemba was also ehh... :ld: When I see him this guy always strikes me as someone who doesn't really do anything, not fast, not active just plodding forward and is a precise, powerful counter puncher.
Now it's okay if someone fukks with that style but to me it's boring af... :russell: Same why I don't really like Swift. I usually don't like when fighters are lazy and don't throw enough but ca get away with it.
Someone likes that and calls it being economical, I'm on a different opinion, I like when fighters are a little less predictable, are able to punch in a fly and etc... not just waiting for the perfect moment to strike and not doing anything until then.

I like some stalking counter punchers though like Canelo or Mikey Garcia but they are way more dynamic to me than the other two I mentioned so I don't have problem with the overall style just with how those guys practice it.

We'd really need two different awards though cause a good pub fight (Whyte vs Chisora, Salido vs Vargas) is very entertaining but so is a tense chess match between two highly skilled fighters (Ward vs Kovalev, J Rock vs Charlo) and the two gives different kind of entertainment, comparing them is like comparing apples with oranges imo plus the Rafael like meatheads only gonna really appreciate the former category.

Jrock vs Charlo was high speed chess on steroids, that was a great fight with a great finish:ohlawd:

Ward/Krusher was like chess on tranquilizers :flabbynsick:

nikkas gotta stop trying to make these boring ass fights into fukking Gatti and Ward. If you enjoyed the fight that's cool, but don't force everybody else to see it as some fukking epic clash of the titans and shyt. :rudy:

No need to call nikkas meatheads and shyt cuz they actually wanna see nikkas hurt each other and shoot the fukking fade.

All of it is boxing, fukk all this apples and oranges shyt. Just some fights are more action packed and entertaining than others. It is what it is.:manny:

If you enjoy watching Miguel Vasquez and Lara running around, thats cool, but dont get upset when nikkas like me say fukk that boring ass shyt. :camby:

I respect all types of boxing, but I dont like all of it, but the sport needs all of it. You can like Gucci Mane and still enjoy Nas.

That Moreno fight definitely belongs there though. That shyt had back and forth action and both were getting dropped. Ended with a KO too.

IMO the best fights of 2016 were (in no order)

Porter/Thurman
Salido/Vargas
Whyte/Chisora
Yamanka/Moreno
Gonzalez/Cuadras
Easter/Commey

because those fights had nikkas landing bombs and even though dudes took them, there were moments where cats got hurt or rocked bad and you wouldn't know what could happen next.

Fights like Frampton/Cruz and Linares/Corrolla and etc...were very good fights, but lacked that extra drama to say they were fights of the year, even though the action and pace were steadily good.

Even GGG vs Brook was damn good for what it was. That shyt was intensely entertaining, because nobody seen Golovkin get lit up like that before. So the surprise factor made that fight better even tho it ended kinda lame. Still no fight of the year tho.

Edit...Charlo vs JRock definitely deserved a mention. That had FOTY written all over it. Back and Forth action, sick KO. That fight got slept on.

like krack said it ended to early but it was dope.....maybe a 10th rd ko would have been more better.

Let's compare based off recent fights that went the distance shall we....:jbhmm:

Lazy Swift :scust:

Punches thrown
589 vs PED
624 vs Matthysse
495 vs Ghost
675 vs Herrera
639 vs Zab

Canelo :ohlawd:
431 vs Trout
415 vs Lara
484 vs Cotto
526 vs Mayweather

:gucci:

I can take this L but I won't like Swift more from this, only thing different is that then idk why I find him fukking boring while at the same time I find Canelo entertaining but I do:yeshrug:

also I usually don't base my opinion on compubox, if i think of Garcia I think about a lazy, plodding counter puncher and if I think about Canelo I think about a sharp, entertaining counter puncher...

If that's the case punch stats or not Canelo does something better to me than Swift that even with less punches he looked more active to me and is more entertaining. Maybe because he is more dynamic what I like.

I'll take the L for the facts though but it won't change my overall opinion...

Hagler Hearns is looked at as a FOTY classic and that shyt was only 3 rounds.

Jrock vs Charlo is long enough as a fight to me breh, but we all see shyt differently

He'll never mention AB...that's why he's "The RING Champion" & still ain't truly the man to face at 140:manny:

And AB doesn't need him at all...we easily the bigger name & draw. We looking for Pacquiao.

Never see much talk about Eddie Hearn but do y'all think he is an exceptional promoter or he just a product of that market/what his pops built.
