That's true.....but what I said is still true.
Floyd still gets credit for beating an undefeated Canelo, but it still takes some luster off the win if GGG steamrolls and KOs him.
Think about it, how good does Buster Douglas' win over Tyson hold up in your opinion today after seeing Tyson destroyed by Holyfield and Lewis with ease & then Danny Williams and McBride also beating him. Do you still think Douglas' win still holds the same status today as it did in 1990? Or did it lose some luster because Tyson continued to lose?
Ehhhh, Douglas will always get props for doing it first and he had the closest to physically prime Tyson. None of those other guys dudes did. Holy gets props cuz he was the underdog and Tyson was more mentally fit (moreso than he was for Buster)
but thats about it. Lewis was supposed to win, Danny was getting thrashed against a past it tyson before he won, and mcbride got a tyson who stopped caring.
Only Douglas and Holyf really get any type of real props for beating Tyson. at least from real boxing fans.
I still see what Floyd is doing tho. I just don't think Tyson was the best example... A lot of time passed between his losses. But regardless, a lil luster will always get taken off a win when someone does it better or a lil later or both.
Canelo is still in his prime, so GGG beating him this year or next will definitely take some luster off of Floyd's win. It's not like Canelo beating destroying top level dudes since then. He beat Lara mad closely and he beat a past it Cotto in a semi competitive fight. If he were to KO them he would have looked better. and made Floyd look better too.
who do you give more credit for beating Baby Bull.....Nate or JMM.
